ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio reports Amari Cooper (quad) is in "pretty significant pain" following his exit in Dallas' Week 6 loss to the Jets.
Cooper notched a single catch before attempting a leaping grab along the sideline and coming down hard on his hip against the Jets. He was unable to return after the half. If this is a long-term injury, the Cowboys would lean on second-year pro Michael Gallup, Tavon Austin and Randall Cobb in the interim. It's a nightmarish situation for the Cowboys, who have now dropped three consecutive games and are projected with the league's toughest schedule between Weeks 7 - 16.

The offense needs Cooper. Gallup has improved, and has alot of talent, but he isnt at a point to where he can be the focal point of the passing game

"down hard on his hip "
"long term injury"

That was one thing that always bugged me about Dez. So much leaping led to so much landing on his hip from 5 or 6 feet in the air. That was going to shorten his effective career. Somebody needed to teach him how to fall.

So Cooper has had a heel issue and now has a hip issue. Bad news for a guy we're hoping to have a long and productive career here.
