With his past I expect the Bengals to be the front runners.

I don't think it would hurt to have him in for a WO. Guy definatly has issues. Can BP get him straight? I don't know. Only BP knows if he would be worth the investment. Work out probably couldn't hurt anything thou.

If he ever joins this team, we better have a large supply of titanium collarbones ready to go...

The talent says yes, but I'm leery of his drug history.

Should we take a flyer a la bringing in Lincoln Kennedy and Freddie Mitchell for visits? Why not. But I certainly wouldn't go trading Greg Ellis for him ( :) ) or give him a signing bonus or anything like that.

9. I think the Lions are going to cut Charles Rogers. In fact, I'm pretty sure of it.

Zoners--do you think we should take a Flyer? :D

Former first-rounder, but is injury prone. Tough call - I bet the lions don't cut him b/c they have some injured receivers and need healthy bodies. Plus he doesn't seem like he's a Parcells guy - if he doesn't respond to Marinelli, then he won't respond to Parcells.

Johnnie Morton is still around too - I'd be happier with bringing him in for a look. You know what you're getting there. . .

If it were anyone other than Peter King making the prediction, I would answer the question.

I'd think of taking the chance... If he were an "attiude" problem guy no.... but if he's cheap i'd risk BP getting him better... i can't think of how anyone was supposed to play well in Detroit.. and with Crayton already hirt again.. might be a good idea..

Actually I've read several blurbs about both his and Mike Williams spots on the roster is shaky.

His one strike away from a suspension does kinda put up a red flag.

I think the speculation has been around for months concerning Rogers and Williams. King said he was "positive". Sorry, I don't put that much faith in the things he writes, especially when he predicts things. When Rogers gets cut, I'll believe it. Things would have to be very bad for that to happen. Even wastes like Joey Harrington got moved via trade. Unless Rogers has failed another drug test and nobody knows about it, I don't see them cutting him outright. They would take a conditional pick or something.

yeah, but they'd be stupid to cut Williams at this point -- sure he's stank it up -- but he is only come into his 2nd year and he did have that year off that really screwed him up.

they are just squaking about Williams. Rogers is the one who really is in danger

I have read that there is a substancial cap penalty to cutting Williams.

I think the drugs and the injuries would be a consideration to a degree for Bill.

However I think the bigger consideration may be the guy's competitive nature.

Does this guy have the fire that would make Bill overlook some of the other problems.

If memory serves some in that WR corp, and other members of the team, were questioned for their committment and what they would do to get better.

One of the reasons giving for hiring their current coach was because the FO (yes I know that includes mongo) thought the team needed a hard head coach that would set his foot down and be a disciplinarian because too many on the team lacked discipline.

I may be getting these guys mixed up but I was thinking that this WR was also reported to have missed team meetings and had other troubles. I know Mike Williams missed meetings but I think this guy did as well.

If that desire or committment is not there doubt Bill would want anything to do with him.

Just something to consider.
