I like Olave but against pro competition I am concerned he’s not going to be as effective. Jameson Williams is the guy I am hoping we grab. The dude is big and may be the fastest player in the draft. Want a guy who can take the safeties back an extra 10 yds he’s the guy.
That is what 26 years without post-season success will do to a fan. The offensive line clearly killed the 2nd half of the season and they haven't done squat to address it other than losing 2 players. I have seen their approach of hoping current players improve play out quite a bit with other positions and it never works out well.
I think CD, Washington and Schultz can hold it down for a month. Then we get Gallup back and should be just fine. It's going to be more about the run game anyway. If we can run the ball the passing game will open up. If we can't you can bring back Coop and whoever else and we will flounder.
Gallup should have been let go...not worth the money coming off a bad injury and being undependable on the middle of the field.
Sports radio was discussing the Cowboy WR situation. They asked "when did fans become so needy and unable to trust our QB that they think Dallas needs every single weapon at every single position to succeed?" There was a time not too many years ago when the quality of the combination of Lamb, Gallup, Shultz, and Washington would be considered more than good enough. I have to agree. Sure, we will draft another WR, which is fine. Probably should always take one somewhere in the draft each year. But Dallas should not need a top 5 WR group (or even a top 15 group) to be successful
I would have moved on from him and re-signed Cedrick Wilson. Gallup had two significant injuries last season. Stephen Jones has already said he could miss the first 2 to 3 games. He could end up missing more than that. He won’t have any training camp. We seem to have a thing for injured players.
If Gallup does miss the first 2-3 games of the season the Cowboys will be without three of their top four WRs from last season. Good luck starting the 2022 regular season with only one quality WR.
Shultz is a Jag te but he goes out there and plays every snap. I'll give him credit for that. Old man Witten played every snap also. So did Swaim. Hes tough enough to play everysnap and not get hurt. Is he good enough to make an impact in the W/L column? Or is he the same take what the defense gives ya checkdown te we've been watching for 10 years? I think our dual te scheme is based around tradition not talent at the position. Would we have lost games if we wouldnt have had Schultz and had Howard, Rudolf, Graham, old man Witten, or any of those fa tes we coulda got for 4-5 million? I just don't see a big dropoff in the W/L column. It doesn't make sense to me to allocate a franchise tag and pay top dollar for a player that is not a differencemaker was my point. I'd rather have paid Tony Pollard, Cedric Wilson, or Cooper that money because they were differencemakers. They actually made plays that impacted the w/l column Tbh I woulda let him walk and picked up Cook and Howard, Rudolph, Graham for 11 million
-----"when did fans become so needy and unable to trust our QB that they think Dallas needs every single weapon at every single position to succeed?" A: When Dak started sucking.
Cincinnati had a terrible oline and they shoulda won the SB We spend too much thought trying to emulate teams from the past instead of innovating a scheme that fits around our talent today. Imo
New England ran an exclusive 12/11 personell group for a few years when they had Gronk and Hernandez Did they stick with that exclusive scheme for 15 years when the talent at te dried up?? That's a big NEGATIVE They still use it sometimes against poor run defenses but is not an every week scheme We're trying to run a never changing scheme and make player fit vs changing the scheme to maximize our talent.
Washington is gonna get their te back and Philly has 3 first round picks. I think our division is gonna be way more competitive this year than 6 blowout wins. There was a lot of empty calorie stats in those division games with this offense. I think we'll split w Washington and Philly and sweep the Giants. We'll need to see some improvement against non Division Teams this year to win the east. Imo Throwing a bunch of rinky dink checkdown passes on 1st and 2nd down to our tes isn't gonna get it this year. It may look good on paper against our division but that's all folks
They spend too much time telling the QB its always ok to make the safe play instead of letting him know sometimes you have got to get the ball to one of your weapons. You can not hit the bullseye without taking the shot.
Te - jumper/Red Zone Wr- Outside speed Center Run stopping lb Left guard I'm going after Jared Cook in fa for 2 years 5 million and Jelani woods in the draft and changing this sdupid checkdown te scheme. I'ma get me some Alpha Dog tes that can score and draw some coverage. Trade Schultz to the raiders for 11 million per year to replace Swaim. Lmao Ya got 2 big tes anchoring the edges and 2 big targets in the red zone. Go get old man Jimmy graham and we can run some 3 te formations lmao Anything sounds better than Schultz and McKeon or Sprinkle
Going into the 2020 offseason, I looked forward to an oline with a rejuvenated Frederick, Tyron, Martin, Collins, and Williams. Three guys pushing for Gold Jackets and Collins seemingly on the verge of becoming a Pro Bowl player. Simply dominant. Sad.
