No he doesn't suck. He's not great but he's not a problem for the team. Not a liability.

I remember when he was drafted how everyone said he would be a turnover machine. He gets a few a year but some teams have guys getting 2 a game.

lol at this thread response,, there is not a safety on this team that is even salvageable.
This franchise decided like most intelligent front office staffs across this league that they
needed to isolate a position on this team that they would not invest big money in, because
no team in this entire league can have elite talent at every position,, that's NFL 101.
But where this Franchise fails is never trying to upgrade the safety position with UDFAs,
or FAs that are cheap.
They took the memo from the top brass, and said .. OK,, just ignore the safety position.
IDK why the problem on this team, this franchise isn't so glaringly obvious.

We had our chance to replace him with one of the best safeties in the league (Jamal Adams) and didn't want to give up some stupid draft picks.

Woods is a below average NFL S. Heath is a terrific 3rd S/Core Special Teamer. The rest should be nothing but special teamers/practice squaders. Woods makes Gerald Sensabuagh look like Darren Woodson. JJ Wilcox made more plays.

1) we also had a chance to replace him with a lesser expensive price in Earl Thomas who would not have cost us any draft picks as an unrestricted FA, in the offseason, after much
speculation during draft time involving Earl and Seahawks.

2) we had a chance to draft KC chiefs safety Juan Thornhill who had a INT for a return TD vs Oak. but we bypass that for DT Trysten Hill.

3) and why did we not get involved in the Minka Fitzpatrick trade mix, but yet we were upfront and ready for Jamal Adams ?
( which i'm not giving that much up for Adams anyway for all what the Jets were asking for)

Remember when he was furios about the possibility of getting Earl Thomas in the offseason? He did not improve a bit because HE IS TOO BIG FOR HIS BOOTS! And that's a killer in sports, for any player.

All our safeties not named Heath are awful. Heath is at least serviceable and makes drive ending plays from time to time.
All of our safeties including Heath are awful, they all need to be replaced. Just because he brings his lunch pale to work and looks the part doesnt mean he’s not a bum.

He is a JAG. The way they refuse to address the spot, you'd think he is Woodson.
