Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports says the Cowboys are the biggest dissapointment of the year. Below is some of the article.

"The Detroit Lions became the first team to go 0-16 in league history but the most disastrous season in the NFL this year belongs to the Cowboys.

Detroit was supposed to be terrible, the predictable result of letting Matt Millen run the franchise for so long. The Lions’ futility is historic, but what’s the tangible difference between 0-16 and 2-14?

Dallas had 13 Pro Bowlers, a peacock proud owner and a ton of talk about how this was the season for its first Super Bowl since 1996.

Instead it was a train wreck of melodrama, mistakes and misplaced priorities. For Dallas to finish 9-7 and out of the playoffs with that much talent is an epic failure.

“We’ve got the best talent in the NFL, but that doesn’t always get the job done,” cornerback Terence Newman told the Dallas Morning News.

At midseason, owner Jerry Jones even mortgaged some of the team’s future to get more talent. He traded a first-, third- and sixth-round draft pick to Detroit for receiver Roy Williams. Like most of Dallas’ moves, it didn’t pan out. Williams caught just 19 passes in 10 games.

It wasn’t as bad as Jones putting his personal reputation on the line in taking Pacman Jones off Roger Goodell’s suspended list. Pacman not only didn’t produce – he was terrible Sunday – he served a six-game midseason suspension after fighting one of the bodyguards Jerry Jones hired to keep him out of trouble."

I guess it takes more than 1 cancer and 13 Pro bowlers to win the Super Bowl. I agree with much of what that article said. Dallas did not meet the expectations and nobody should have started popping off about the Super Bowl. Funny that they said Detroit with the first 0-16 record in history was a runner up to the worst team of the year Dallas Cowboys. And Dallas gave Detroit our first, third and sixth round draft picks for next year!!! Philty gave Dallas TO! Both teams are laughing all the way to the bank. Boy did they ever sucker Jerry!
Dallas made the best trade of the decade with Hershell Walker but boy did Philty and Detroit ever stick it to us on Roy Williams and TO.
I will say the same thing I have said since before Aikman left. This team will never win another Super Bowl until we start protecting the quarterback again. Adding the cancer otherwise know as TO did not help anything.

Well I'm just too tired and fustrated to even put up an argument against this statement.

Its a stupid statement anyway. Thats just HATERS piling on which is expected. It's really meaningless anyway...

Sure this was the most dissapointing season in franchise history, but I stopped reading at "Detroit was supposed to be terrible"

I believe the media was heralding them as one of the nfc's teams to beat this season.

I agree that they were the biggest disappointment....however, that is coming from a fan.

I had much higher expectations as did everyone else on here, and having the season done at this point was definately not one of them.

How could we be a bigger disappointment than the Packers, who also were 13-3 last year but went 6-10 this year?

Or Jax, who beat Pittsburgh in an incredible playoff game last year but couldn't beat a high school team and went 5-11 this year?

Not just this yr...probably the biggest busts in recent NFL history...

and clearly the biggest group of underachievers in our franchises history

So what? Green Bay traded away the QB they had and gave the new one a massive contract. So they must have thought they'd be at least as good with the new one.

And I've read a billion times that injuries are no excuse.

Jax had alot of OL injuries and Garrard came back to earth, after having a fairy-tale year last yr

GB was never as good as their record last yr IMO

Alot of mediots as well as fans had us going to the playoffs at a bare minimum and ALOT of others had us in the Superbowl. Don't remember too much of that type of talk from any of those other teams.

There's a big difference between being the worst team and being the biggest disapointment.

When the owner, media, fans, players accepted all the hype that we were superbowl bound/winners at the start of the season, anything short of that is a dismal failure... Heck the mayor of Oxnard gave JJ a mock SB trophy during TC. This lame article is nothing more than beating a dead horse. No doubt this is one huge crap sandwich and we are all gonna have to take a bite.
