Fullback is a dying position in the NFL. A TE can do the job better. I look for the Cowboys to keep only one FB (Anderson) and add a TE who can block and catch well. Fasano and Curtis could fill the FB/TE role. The FB and TE positions are merging together.

I think we are more likely to get most Razorbacks than we are McFadden because we can actually acquire the others guys where we stand with picks.


Hillis is interesting but I bet BP loves him. Almost as much as TE's or LBs. He raved about old school complete fullbacks and Hillis is that. He can run, catch or block.

He'd be a nice 4th active back here imho. Especially if he can play any aspect of special teams at a high level.

Felix Jones was a product of D-Mac, not the other way around.... Jones big runs normally occurred when he was in, meaning teams were focused on D-Mac...

All the highlight video I've seen of Felix Jones primarily had DMAC taking a fake and the defense moving with him and Felix busting out hardly touched.

So having a RB with some skills, as Jones has, may also require him to have another player in the backfield that is a substantial threat to get the defense over-reacting to be successful.

Jones will not be in the same backfield as MBIII in most formations. He'll get a FB to lead block, but the defense will be keying on Felix Jones and not DMAC as in college.

That's not to say Jones might not be able to do it by himself and as the lead RB at least spliting the carries with MBIII.

But I think you have to give it a good review on Jones and whether he really has the talent to do what needs to be done...solo..so to speak.

Yes, he split carries with DMAC.

No, he wasn't the featured back in the backfield while doing it...usually.

I'd pass on him.

What we want is the type of back that can get it done with or without splitting carries. I suggest this repeatedly.

The more this back that can take the carries off of MBIII and be productive, the more effective MBIII is going to remain for us.

It's not going to be as easy replacing JuJo as some think it will be if all we do is look for another MBIII player designed to split carries.

We should elevate our sites at RB and find a more complete RB like JuJo was supposed to be coming here. Not looking for another MBIII clone.
