Jerry all but admitted that Mendenhall was higher rated back ,( someone capable of carrying the the ball 20 times a game and being the starter ) so why do draft someone who can't start ? This is Sherman Williams(or Julius or Lassic) all over again!

The reason we took Mendenhall is because he WOULD have been a part time player.

Felix Jones is NOT just a RB, he can lineup in the slot and plays the slot some and he also is a great KO returner. So he can make an impact with Barber still on the field. Mendenhall can ONLY make an impact if Barber is on the bench.

You DO if you plan on winning a SB within the next year or two. Jerry is very close & knows it well. He'll do whatever he needs to (while still getting good value) to aid us towards that goal.

We've had a playoff drought for many years but are on the cusp of becoming perennial contenders. What better way to christen our new stadium than as SB champs?

Actually I have watched him over the past two seasons and he is not a good full time back. He plays with the most heart I have seen on this team, which is why I would love to keep him( but not for 35M) but to claim he is for sure a full time back is blind.

I can see your argument about rb but the 4th best cb in this draft was way way better than the highest rated wr by a mile sorry but this is a weak wr class

have you seen barber play a full season , completely at full-time , NO. Was he not one of the top touchdown scorers in 2006, yes. So i could not say he is able to and no one can say for sure that he is not.

How do you know MBIII is better ? He was a 4th rounder based on his lack of measurables . RB is bigger and faster and admittedly a little tight hipped but MBIII 's game is not without holes
