Just wanted to express my elation at the thought of having a fearless kicker like Nick Folk on the team. In recent years, the team has been struggling with inconsistencies at kicker. From Cundiff (although he did kick a record 7 FGs in that MNF game against the Giants in 2003) to Cortez to Suisham to Vanderjagt to Gramatica, the Parcells Era was an exercise in kicker futility.

I am feeling good about Folk's ability, so here's to years of opponents getting "Folked" by clutch FGs and years of not just long-term stability but long-term excellence at the position. And to think we did not even need Steve Hoffman this time, as great of a kicking coach as he is. :)

To my knowledge, no. Vanderdrunk is at home still waiting for a ph call so that he can convince a coach that he can still turn it on and turn it off when he feels like.

We struck gold with this kid. Every kick he's made this year has been solid and right down the middle. We haven't had a kicker this good since Chris Boniol. Whatever Ireland saw in this kid is something special.

It has been a good long while since we've had a good kicker.

If he keeps it up... ol' Nick just might end up being the best.

The interesting thing (to me) about Folk is that we selected him over Mason Crosby, who had gaudier stats and more hype. Crosby's doing well in GB, but Folk has been flawless.

I'm starting to worry about Nick's immortal soul. He must have sold it to the devil in exchange for never missing a field goal, ever. He was perfect in preseason, and he's perfect through 5 games. Last night was his first 'clutch' situation and he was dead solid perfect, TWICE.

We had a kick blocked against Chicago.

But that couldn't have been Folk's fault. Rival demi-god's must have conspired to tilt the earth on it's axis, to help Israel Idonije to block the kick.

Who would have thought the management knew what they were doing by taking Folk as the first kicker in the draft when Mason Crosby was still available?

I mean, granted, Folk is a wierd looking dude with that shaved head and those big ears, but the guy has no fear.

On ESPN's Countdown show last night, subject turned to kickers and their confidence, wanting to compete, step up and win games for their team. Parcells was asked about cutting Vandershank loose last season. Bill replied, "The guy just couldnt make anything". Pretty much the truth.

Folk hit the upright @ Miami right before the half. But that was a real tough kick. 47 yards and in the dirt. Still bounced in
