You may hate him, but TO has helped this team

49 catches
654 yards
7 TDs

On pace for 88 catches, 1,164 yards, and 12 TDs

Dallas hasnt had a WR put up those kind of numbers since Michael Irvin caught 100 passes in 1995. I dislike the man as much as anybody, but arguing that he hasnt helped our offense is beyond idiotic.

Look at the Crayton TD today. Entire defense loaded to TO's side.

He's infuriating, annoying, self-centered and probably not worth the money we are paying him.

But even as a decoy, he makes it possible to succeed with no-name receivers like Hurd.

Nobody's arguing his on-field contributions.

And if he continues to conduct himself as he did today, he'll win over even the die-hard 'haters', myself included.

I'm going to focus on the first part of your post title.

I supported bringing him in, and I think he does help the team... but despite that, I've found that I REALLY do hate the guy.

I don't think I've ever hated a Cowboy while he was wearing the star, but I really dislike TO. The guy just grates on me.

The middle of the field has been WIDE OPEN all season because everyone is shifting their safeties deep to TO's side and the LBs are one on one with our TEs and backs

And yet, here we are, 10 weeks into the season, still waiting for him to "destroy" this team like everyone told us he would. The only reason his name has been in the headlines so much is because the media lives and dies by his every word and action. He really hasnt done anything aside from drop some passes and get one celebration penalty

And that WASN'T happening to him with Terry in..TG was getting as much attention as he was.

I hope Owens appreciates that - he ended up with good numbers and a second half TD when he beat the single coverage by Green, but in the first half he was two receptions for less than 20 yards.

In the end, it's TONY ROMO who is making it happen, but Owens has benefited from 'shared coverage' before today and without TG he can expect to be very, very popular.

He's helped all his teams, but the price has been steep. Dallas will not be his last NFL stop.

There are 2 big reasons we are at the very top of the league in offense and one is the attention T.O. demands and two is we now have a QB to take advantage of it.

We are now fun to watch on offense!

You'd be surprised, summer.

Last week I was one of the few defending his 'drop' as something any receiver can and does make.

I defended him when he was accused of faking his preseason injury, and even more when he was accused of deliberately over-dosing.

My FIRST postgame comment today was to 'defend' him in Rack's thread.

But every time I see him showboat, whenever he comes out with the obnoxious boasting, and most of all, whenever he puts himself before his team, my hate kicks up with a vengeance.

Today, tho, he was a pro. In every way, imo.

Let it STAY that way, and he'll certainly get the love.

Well, there's still a lot of games left to play, but if we end up missing the playoffs by one game, I'm going to blame TO for that drop against the Redsk*ns. If he makes that catch, we win that game in a rout.

It's going to take me a long time to get over that... basturd ruined what should have been a great day.

Right - With his drop that equal loss of downs; his distractive behavior; bad attitude and childish demeanor, he does hurt the team.

I won't argue that he hasn't done things to help, but he sure does a lot to hurt this team as well.

It's a give and take with T.O. - always has been. That's a damn shame.

I like TO!
I don't like watching him drop the ball, but I'm glad JJ signed him.
He's a gamebreaking talent, easily top 10 at his position.
He doesn't get a fair rap in the press, but he's brought a lot of that on himself. If he worried a little less about the spotlight and a littlle more about say the team, he'd put an end to a lot of his problems.

It was nice to hear the guys give him credit for staying after practice and working with Hurd (who made a sick catch reaching back on a poorly thrown pass) during TC.

I'm glad he's here. I'm glad Romo throws him the ball. Heck, I'm glad Witten and Crayton are getting involved more to. Add Glenn to the mix and Dallas has what they need on O to score a lot of points and to be very successful. All they have to do is play smart, CATCH the ball, Secure the ball and everything will be alright.

Now is calling him a "decoy" fair... its a game of matchups... so when he is covered we go for better matchup.

You dont hear people calling Harrison a decoy because Wayne is getting the ball etc....
