Last play of practice yesterday.....WOW! :star:

Battle #32 rookie and #27 Hamlin had a head on collision that All State insurance could not repair.

That rookie rb--Zoners we must consider a place for him on this team somewhere.....the kid can ball it! After the hit.....he staggered, re-focused and went in the endzone......Hamlin was carried off the field......fortunately, he will be fine.

What do you Zoners think of his chances?

Not being able to see him, prior to seeing him in any preseason games, with the seemingly glowing reports of Tyson Thompson.

I would hazard to guess that at best Battle will be a practice squad player.

The Cowboys like Battle but they also like Thompson a lot more since he's added some moves to his speedy running ability. Don't know if he can catch out of the backfield (which would be really nice) but same also goes for Battle. We'll try to get him on the PS cause I think he has a future in the NFL and he'll probably be one of the last players drafted. Of course if he looks sensational in preseason.

Yes, Battle does catch out of the back field very well.......he is a stud.

Problem is.......Barber (nuff said), JJ (looks ready), Thompson (looks best ever)......I just don't want to cut this guy.

I think he will be one of 2 fullbacks that we keep.

Fullbacks: J. Battle and D. Anderson

Is Battle #34? When I was watching the NFLN training camp special, I kept wondering who #34 was because he kept showing up.

No, #34 is Anderson........Battle is #32

I don't like the sound of our starting FS that already has a history of head injuries getting carried off the field for a head on collision....

I had never seent a picture of said Jackie Battle before going to camp on Saturday. Imagine my surprise when I see this guy #32 running as the 4th RB... and he's white. I'm like wth is that?? I find my roster, and it's Jackie Battle. I don't know, maybe I'm racist, but I assumed that he was black. And with the name, who could blame me?? That name just sounds like a big bruising RB/FB.

IF Battle shows too much in preseason, then a team would pick him up on waivers like they told Parcells last year about Austin and Hurd, when 2 GMs told him, if he cut either one of them, they would pick him up in a heartbeat.

So, I am thinking more and more, they might just keep 2 TEs, and let Fasano be a backup like extra fullback too. Then, what they can do is keep Thorn or that other te or Hannah on practice squad, if something happens to one of our TEs.

Just to me, if Battle runs like that in preseason, he wont last on waiver wire, he will be picked up, just remember we cut Green twice, and he got picked up by Bengals, that needed players.

Great points cowboyjoe....and if Green can get picked up by anyone.......then I like Battle chances of being picked up for sure.

He is huge and has very good to great speed for his size.....and I watch the folks who challege him in the hitting drills and you can see them tensing up BEFORE the contact--in other words....they dread it.

Interesting.

I did the same thing when we first drafted Al Johnson a couple of years ago. I was quite surprised when I found out he wasn't an African-American.
