We're not as young as we think. We have 4 starters 30 or over. Next year, we'll have 4 more starters turning 30 and 3 more turning 29.

That's why we need to do a good job of finding young replacements in the draft and FA.
3 of those 4 turning 30 next year are linemen. That's not old for a lineman.

And the 4th guy will play for another 6-7 years.

Other than the fact that H**** is 31.

Also, he's not a starter much these days.

Reeves has started every game this season, and he's 25.
You're right that Henry turned 31 a couple weeks ago. But Reeves is his backup.

I think before the season we had the 4rd or 5th youngest roster in the league

someone needs to show the same info for the skins

On the "Tale of the Tape" thing on DMN they mention that Dallas has 6 total players over 30 while Washington has 20. That's right, almost half their team is over 30.

It's funny how you people think that turning 30 magically turns a player "Old".

That would be nice in your perfect little fantasy world, wouldn't it?

Sorry, but 32 or 33 is a better place to draw the line (varies from player to player) so we're even younger then you think.

Yea, it feels so good to me to watch a mostly young team. For years I complained about wanting to watch younger players and watch them grow and see if they could reach their potential. That's what's always been exciting to me.

I deifnitely think CB needs to be address in the 1st or 2nd round (1st if possible). Then WR should be a 2nd or 3rd round unless there's a really good one in the 1st.

For Flozell, I think we should franchise him to have him for just one more year. At that point hopefully McQuistan/Martin/Free can take his place. Bad thing is, that would be when Columbo's contract expires...though I think we could extend his deal this offseason at a reasonable rate.

Anyone know if Reeves is starting today? :D
He may this week if they decide to be conservative with Henry's injury, but there's no chance Reeves starts next week.

Good thread Theogt.

As much as I would like to see this team win this year I want it to be competitive over the next 5.

I agree with the people saying that Newman still has 5-6 good years left in him. He's in top notch shape and if he remains healthy he'll be holding down that corner spot for a while.

Only four starters are 30 or older, two of which have talented young replacements waiting in the wings (Ellis and Adams). And we have two first round picks that could be spent on a WR and a CB.

Can't get much better than that.

I was just talking about this with my mom. She's a teacher and has taught a lot of "Cowboy's kids " and every year I ask her If she has any more. I just realized this morning, alot of these guys are to young to have kids in school. Bummer.
