Younger Fan

I’m a fan born in 1993. So I’ve missed a lot of the successful years of this franchise. My bond with the team started when we got T.O.

As I got older I learned about Jerry Jones, unfortunately and started my Cowboys fandom with Bill Parcells at the helm. With 10 years of JG I can say it’s refreshing to have a new coach even though we are struggling, the team offensively looks different and Mike’s biggest message today was changing the locker room.

My cousins told me that MM would make Dak statistically have the greatest year, but it would be bad for the team. I see it now because JG doesn’t even have the balls to let Dak sling it like that. Underneath I feel like he’s testing Dak as well in his contract year seeing if he can be the guy.

I have hope we can go 3-0 leading into the Eagles game with a combination minimum 4 players of Sean Lee, LVE, Randy, Chido, Brown. LVE now has 21 days to be on the active roster.

Eagles game will be the swing game of the season, away in Philly. Wentz will be fighting to keep their team in the division. I have hope, but it needs to grow week by week and that starts with stomping on the Giants and making a statement Monday night with the Cardinals at home.

PS - I went to the pages with the last messages on this thread. We had Quincy Carter addicted to coke on this team. We need to pay Dak, he will be pushed to limits this season and that is a good thing.

You deserve better. I was in high-school when the 90s dynasty was rolling the league. It was a lot of fun, but I would appreciate it so much more now.

Dak has never had top talent based on what I've seen. He inherited a 4-12 team and aside from his 13 win season his rookie year his team has been 8-8.
well 9-7 10-6 and 8-8 might wan to at least state facts

I can't possibly fathom why you'd be a fan of this team. There are so many better choices out there.

I knew the Landry years of class and innovation. I knew the Jimmy years of intensity and discipline and domination.

When Jimmy left, it's been the years of the drunken hillbilly who'd rather lose than see a coach be credited on a pedestal.

The Clampetts in Beverly Hills. Disgusting.

Look at the Ravens or Steelers, and how brilliantly they're run. The Chiefs, Rams, Seahawks, Titans, Packers....there are just so many better options out there.

I'm stuck with Jed. Too old to change. Not that it hasn't crossed my mind.

My fandom started when Murchison owned the team, with Meredith at QB and Perkins at RB, the original Doomsday D. It was about football then and not about marketing. Murchison knew his place, hired good people, and let them do their jobs. Watching Staubach do his magic on Sundays made my fandom permanent.

I feel bad for fans that didn't get to see Staubach. For me those were the best of times. Unfortunately Jerry does his best on a daily basis to kill my fandom, I dont expect any better when Stevie takes over. I am numb to mediocrity at this point and don't expect this team to win another championship in my lifetime. Kind of sad based on what this franchise once was.

I was born in '95 so I feel your pain. Luckily the Cowboys give us some sort of hope (even if it's false) year after year unlike being a Browns or Jaguars fan.

Sadly, I'm in the same boat. :(

Dear lad.
Like cigarette smoking, it is best not started. Or Amazon.
Also, hair braiding, which stresses the tresses.
Put your emotional support behind the chiefs, Ravens and 49ers and you will not be sari but glad you left Mumbai.
Jerry will break your heart every year.

It’s too late for me now brother. Im stuck in this with you guys til he gives me a heart attack.

It's also a fallacy that other QBs are highly successful without having strong talent around them. Mahomes had Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, along with several other solid receivers. The year before that Brady had a top (I think the top) rushing team in the NFL, along with Gronkowski, Edleman, Gordon and Hogan, and a strong defense, not to mention Belichick being in charge. Wentz/Foles won with a top tier running game, an elite TE, and an elite O-Line. Denver won without a strong offense at all, relying mostly on the defense to carry it. Seattle won with the top running game in the NFL and an elite defense. This could go on and on.

People gauge talent based on who makes fantasy football lists and who they have heard of. People tried to argue with me that Seahawks don't have weapons. Hell Khiladi just said Russ's weapons are trash.

Fixed it. Sorry but nobody remembers football games from when they were 3..........even if your parents parked you in front of the TV.
True. I was born in 72 and remember having a #12 jersey idolizing Roger Staubach but I didn't know what was going on until the Danny White years.

I became a Cowboy fan because they played and looked different than any other team thanks to Tex and Tom....but couldn't win the big one, until Staubach came along. I've seen all the glory, so Ive been spolied. Anyone under 30, watching the last 25 years, my condolences, I at least was able to witness some of the greatest games and players on the biggest stages.......it was fun......now a days I'm indifferent....still love the team but the way its been run has been disheartening.

Repeating the same exact comment two times in a row doesn't make it mean any more. Here's another clue for you, the Cowboys are using the same basic playbook used by Garrett they're just not sticking to using the same 8 or 10 plays over and over that Garrett did.

I've been a Cowboys fan since the very first day in the league. the first year of 0-11-1 was really tough but then so were watching them lose 2 years in a row to the peckers for the championship. I've seen all of the Super Bowl teams and all of the3 not so good years. I wish they would win the Super Bowl for like 5 years in a row but that's not going happen for any team. One of the things that takes some of the hurt away is the Cowboys aren't the CUBS and had to wait over a 100 years for another championship.

A team that was 4th in the NFL in rushing yards last year, and has Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf to throw to, and his weapons are trash?

Of course that's his MO - attack things with extreme terms like "trash" and "garbage" under the apparent belief that by being as dramatic as possible it will make it seem like he has a point.

Started watching in 1975 as a 5 year old, watching Drew Pearson and Tony D, Ed Too Tall, Butch Johnson & Roger Staubach. I remember running down my street catching the ball saying, DREW, DREW. Catching those balls all day long turned me into a receiver in High School and Semi Pro. I was mid 20s when we won 3 in a row in the 90s. I lived through some great years and it feels like I've been in hell for a quarter of a century.

Every decision Jerry has made on his own without Jimmy has been a disaster. I just feel bad for the younger generation.

My condolences. I grew up watching Roger Staubach and Tom Landry. If I was your age and hadn't seen this team win Super Bowls I doubt I'd be a Cowboys fan.

I hope you live long enough to see the Cowboys return to glory. I suspect I will not as long ss the Jones boys are running the show.
i would of never picked the cowboys as my team after the middle nineties
