I feel you. What's sad and truly eye opening is that those of us who have yet to see this team win anything of importance aren't really that young, lol.

26 and was too young to enjoy the glory years even though I did watch Superbowl 30 live as a kid.

I don't remember all that great stuff.

And I am finally losing some interest in this average crap. Still a fan but less so year by year.

I'm 25 and depressed. Discuss.

Chin up, fellow fan.

I was a child when the Cowboys went to five Super Bowls. Then came the barren years: One bad draft after another and the decline of Tom Landry -- I was ready to pack it in and follow the new basketball team in town.

Then, Jimmy came and all hope was renewed. Spares were sent to the asthma field and malcontents were quickly sent to the Gulag or Siberia. That first year was brutal but three SBs were soon to follow. I was in my late 20s early 30s when the new dynasty was born.

Hang in there, there is always hope!

23 here. Kind of expected the 8-8 trifecta, so not that sad. I know as long as Jerry runs the show we aren't going to have much success...barring some inane luck

I now know that as long as Jerry walks & talks & takes in air that we will be stuck in this constant "if we win we move on" mode.

Unless he hires a coach that can actually coach and stays in the "I sell Pom poms" dept where he belongs I am in the when I see it I will believe it mindset.

I like college football better now. I find it more entertaining that is.

This is a great board though. Lots of fun.

Jerry is just like Jason. In way over his head. For all his decades of thinking he's this masterful football guy he is not. He's just a rich egomaniac who thinks the world revolves around him. Jimmy was a football guy. And he knew how to do it even with Jerry slobbering over his shoulder. Jason is just there. Jerry is still slobbering over his shoulder but he's clueless as to how to be a successful coach.

I'm 26 and do not remember watching any superbowls. I don't like this team because of the glory days... isn't that technically the definition of bandwagon fans? I like this team because my brother was a 49ers fan and hated the Cowboys. I was 10. It's a little too late to change it now. We could never win a superbowl until my death and it would be irrelevant. I'm a Cowboys, Braves, Bulls, UNC and VT fan. Brother was a Duke & UVA fan as well.. hah

When I was 24 the Cowboys were approaching rock bottom. The Landry era was hurtling towards its catastrophic end. The Cowboys I had known my entire life were on the verge of becoming the Saints. There seemed to be no hope. The team was sold to a loudmouthed oilman who hired an equally brash college coach. Things got even worse.( I would LOVE to have had the internet back then lol) There was no hope. My Cowboys were gone. 1-15. Laughing stock. Worse then the Saints.

Keep the faith young men and women. Keep the faith.

What makes you younger fans hang in there? Parents are Cowboy fans so you latched on? All you have really known is Jerry's team, as a 40 year old who remembers the times before Jerry started screwing things up I struggle with my interest. Think it would be a lot easier to just turn off if all I have ever known is bad Jerry.

Great question.

It sounds awful but unless you are a local or fan who was conditioned to be a fan growing up, why would anyone young become a Cowboys fan?

It certainly is not the winning tradition over the last 17 years.
