Whats so promising about Crawford. The guy was nothing special in college, has done nothing in the pros and is now coming of a season ending injury.

He will always have Jason Hatcher's "future Hall of Famer" comment going for him. Which is nice.

I still would have went Barron over Clairborne last year. Don't get me wrong I want Mo to (get on the field first) have a strong second year but I thought Barron was the better player and fit.

Totally agree on the Crawford comment too. I know he was a rookie last year but saw nothing to warrant the hype he was getting around these parts

When I start to hear the "It's too early" defense ... that means something is wrong.

This draft was a mess. Not surprised.

Thanx Jerrah. Great work ... as usual. :)

Hatcher was nothing special in college, was drafted in the 3rd round in 2006.

Not like Hatcher has been anything special most of his career either -- 7 years and only 109 career tackles and 16 career sacks...

Ie: Hatcher has averaged 15 tackles and 2.2 sacks per season.

He finally turned into a decent player two years ago.

Are you saying we shouldn't have kept him?
My reading comprehension is not at an all-time high right now...

I like Hannah but at some point he will be passed by Escobar. Hopefully, anyway.

It really sells me on his ability much more than his actual on field contributions. Has he had any on field contributions?

We got Ron Leary after the draft and he's our Week 1 starter at LG. Don't leave him out.

I seem to recall the giddiness of a poster or two about these players last year. They listed these guys and each commentary was about how good these people could turn out to be.

Funny how things work out, huh?

Bad or Unlucky?

1st rd pick, Morris Claiborne: has caught the injury bug

2nd rd pick, TRADED AWAY

3rd pick, Tyrone Crawford: Out for the year

4th rd picks, Wilber & Johnson: JAG and China Doll

5th rd pick, Danny Coale: CUT

6th rd pick, James Hana: rotational player, nothing special

7th rd pick, Caleb McSurdy: CUT

Cmon Zordon. Premature much?

Yea, or it literally means "its too early".. because its literally only been one year.

But keep whining.. as usual.

Those same posters are still giddy. I don't understand why they are still that way, but I didn't understand why they were giddy when this collection of players was drafted to begin with. When the trade took place to draft Mo, giddy couldn't be used to describe my feelings at that moment or any moment afterwards.

Whoa pump your breaks... Crawford, Hanna and Claiborne will save this draft class.

It's early, but it sure ain't looking good. Claiborne was taken 6th overall and came from the same school as Patrick Peterson but he sure doesn't look to be his equal so far. Wilber is an absolute anybody, haven't seen a single thing from him that impressed me. Crawford had no impact as a rookie, but not gonna dock him for an injury. Staff didn't trust Hanna enough to pass on Escobar and Matt Johnson will go 2 years without playing a snap in a regular season game. Not even gonna waste time talking McSurdy, but he was a late pick so, whatever.

It ain't looking good.

Claiborne, Crawford and Hanna. I trade the certainty of having a cornerstone, top 10 pick corner back in place, for a 4th and 5th rounder.

Are we judging our rookie class or are draft picks? Because Ronald Leary was a draft pick and he's currently starting. But I guess that makes the draft look a bit better so that's probably why he was left out. It would hurt your agenda lol.

You want to find at least three starters to make a good draft. I also include UDFAs in the mix. Claiborne, Crawford, Hanna, Leary may all end up starting, which would make it a very solid draft. If only Claiborne, Leary, and Hanna end up starting, however, it's still solid draft. Fans tend to grossly overestimate the value of third-round and lower draft picks.

ah, the ol' "let's not wait for a legitimate amount of time before judging a draft class" discussion

You can't judge the 2012 unless all of those guys were but...McSurdy was cut (7th)...um, yeah, I would guess that many/most 7th rounders from 2+ years ago don't stay on a roster (for any team)...we cut Coale, but I will guess that he makes it back the PS...IR for Crawford and Johnson so who knows (Crawford was looking good)...Mo? could be an all pro...Hanna? could/should taker a step forward this year if they employ the 12 package efficiently...nowe Wilber, he's the enigma of this class IMO...I feel that he is likely out of position, but if given more reps at DE, he could surprise

I am not ready to stick a fork in the 2012 draft class just yet
