5 Favorite from my perspective as fan for 51 years?

Roger Staubach
Bob Hayes
Chuck Howley
Bob Lilly
Eric Williams - Jason Witten (tie)

It was easy to create my initial list of 11, but difficult to go with only 5.

Another can't go wrong tough question.
I will go with history as the current players still need to prove some stuff. But Romo and Dez on the current / recent players list that could be added to all time favorites.

Emmitt
Dorsett
Irvin
Staubach
Randy White

I like this, for a couple of reasons:
1. I cannot recall a better big-game football coach - at any level - than Jimmy. I have to confess, I wasn't always buying his act early on, but the confidence he inspired within that locker room was nothing short of legendary.
2. Nothing was more fun at the old Stadium, at least for me, than when our kickoff team would take the field, and the PA would hit us with the Jaws theme. And down there, was #29 rocking out, whipping everyone into a frenzy.

Yes, Jimmy was both the coach and acting GM. What he accomplished was almost unmatched in sports to my knowledge. He took a really really bad team and won 2 Super Bowls in 5 years and instilled so much discipline and talent into the team that it basically coached itself to another Super Bowl.

Gant was also really cool. He came over to the fence and spent several minutes talking to me and my GF at training camp when it was in Austin. We were not seeking an autograph or anything, he just came over after practice and started talking to us.

I literally can't choose. There would be too many players that I loved sitting on the outside, looking in.

I do know that Dez and Emmitt would be in there.

Probably Romo.

Erik Williams, Larry Allen, Frederick, and T Smith.

Randy White would have to be there. So would Charles Haley.

ahhh. Too many.

He was probably just sizing you up and came in for a test bite, like sharks do.

Butch Johnson - California Quake
Michael Downs - just one of those weird things, I guess. Actually, Downs, Walls and Thurman were my favorites on those early 80s teams.
Tony Dorsett - even on playgrounds in Washington DC, all the kids wanted to be Dorsett
Emmitt Smith - the engine of the early 90s
Marion Barber - for a 2-3 year stretch, even in a reserve role he was simply a joy to watch. Loved the emotion

Hon Mention...Dez and Witten

Hard to believe so few named Bob Hayes...I guess you had to be watching in those days and enjoy the excitement he brought.

DJ Dozier.
I know he was never a Cowboy, but he helped shaped the dominant teams of the 90s.
