Given what you saw tonight in combination with practice reports, previous play and your gut feelings, how would you put together the 53 man roster?

Here is mine:

Offense: 22

QB: Romo, Weeden (2)
RB: Murray, Randle, Dunbar (3)
FB: Clutts (1)
WR: Bryant, Williams, Beasley, Harris, Street (5)
TE: Witten, Escobar, Hanna (3)
OG: Martin, Leary, Bernadeau, Nwaneri (4)
OT: Smith, Free, Parnell (3)
But I'm very tempted to put Wetzel in Parnell's spot, I was really impressed by him. Either way, I feel as if Free goes down then Martin goes to RT and if Smith is injured (God forbid) then Free goes to LT, Martin to RT and Nwaneri or Bernadeau comes in at RG.
C: Frederick (1)

Defense: 28

DT: Melton, McClain, Brent, Coleman, Bishop (5)
DE: Mincey, Selvie, Lawrence, Crawford, Wilson, Bass(6)
OLB: Carter, Wilbur, Hitchens, Lawrence (4)
MLB: McClain, Durant, Holloman (3)
CB: Scandrick, Carr, Claiborne, Moore, Webb (he does bring some special teams ability), Mitchell (6)
SS: Church, Dixon (2)
FS: Wilcox, Heath (2)

Special Teams: 3

K: Bailey (1)
P: Jones (1)
LS: Frenchie (1)

PUP: Spencer

Practice Squad:

QB: Dustin Vaughn
DE: Dartwan Bush
DE: Ben Gardner
LB: Will Smith
OT: John Wetzel
OG: Ronald Patrick
WR: Chris Boyd
CB: Tyler Patmon

I think they keep 6 cb's (with one going to Fs). Prob Webb goes to Fs over Heath. But I guess it depends on special teams for these backups. If Heath has the edge, that is a hard call to make.

I dont think we keep both Bishop & Coleman. We might bring in some vet help. Other than that I agree.

Not that it is our #1 priority, but I would really like to see us look for a new punter. Jones sucks.

Overall, I think your list is spot on. I just made a few minor changes to what I think will happen. Good job.

I see some guesses at the roster having only 7 or 8 OL. I just don't see that. That is a huge risk even taking into account some of the guys being able to play multiple positions.

I also don't agree with those wanting a FB. We just don't have that luxury keeping a fossil on the roster this year unless we truly are going run first-pass second.

There are many players that are better than keeping Webb as a 6th CB. Start with Jakar Hamilton.

Bass is a DT, not DE.

It seems highly unlikely that Josh Brent would be ready for game 1. They can put him on the NFI list and he can work out at the team facility and go to meetings. He can be activated at anytime during the season, IIRC.

Personally, I would prefer a 6th WR or possibly 4th RB over a 7th LB.

I don't get the Jakar Hamilton love. We've hardly seen him play. I still think that Webb has shown more than he has.

Bass is listed in the official team website as a defensive end. He has position flex just like Crawford.

Brent will have around 3 weeks to get ready and I think he's substantially better than anyone we have at the 1 tech. He plays ASAP.

Cam Lawrence is on all the special teams. I think he'd make more of a difference than Williams or Byrd or Briscoe.
