Looking to pick up a few books, I never got around to getting Jeff Pearlman's "Boys Will Be Boys" book, so I'm looking to order it, and might as well order a few others.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Haven't read this one since I was 12 or 13, but I seem to recall it was pretty good.

Love Cowboys Have Always Been My Heroes. I actually did not know the real story of the Skins and Boys rivalry from the beginning until I read that book.

Turning the Thing Around by Jimmy Johnson a good read as well.

This thread inspired me to look at some Cowboys books, but Amazon knows me too well - I ended up buying a book about concept passing instead.

This is a must-have for any Dallas Cowboys Library. I can't think of a more appropriate title for a Cowboys book, given the subject of study.

The Authorized Pictorial History of the Dallas Cowboys.

I have one of the very few leather bound, autographed copies of that book. So thats one of my favs.

But my all time favorite to read is Once A Cowboy by Walt Garrison. He also had another one out called, "Then Staubach Said to Landry..." Not bad at all either.

Boys Will Be Boys

it's the only Cowboy book I've read, but it was eye-opening

My favorite is "Once a Cowboy," by Walt Garrison. I think what makes it so good is Garrison's talent as a storyteller. He's naturally gifted and funny.

I also liked the anecdotal stories of the old Cowboys in Bayless' "God's Coach," although I think Bayless tried way to hard to take Landry down a notch. If you can get past that, there's some crazy stories and great history in that.

Oh, and Hos, thanks for the plug.

There apparently are a few floating around out there (mostly used). It's paperback and was published in 1994 or 1995 (can't exactly remember). Just a collection of testimonies by 20 former Cowboy coaches and players.

Temporarily out of stock, Chief. Time to get on the horn.
