Since it's steering into one hit songs on still great albums, I present a personal fave: The Toadies, Possum Kingdom, from Rubberneck, an essential album if you are into early-90s grunge

This was their only song that got any real airplay on alt-rock stations, as that radio was dominated by Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nirvana etc

So much 90's grunge got buried by the greats that emerged from the genre. I think sentimentality in any grunge band that didn't make it is what did them in.

Had to be real/authentic to last. This wasn't shallow, hair metal-dominated airwaves anymore.

This is a great song that still gets played on KROQ here in Los Angeles
