Your honest opinion of Romo? A fair and honest poll.

I know it's starting to become Romo overkill, but I had to start this poll after reading the other poll that seems pretty darn biased. I tried to make this as fair as possible and represent all spectrums of Cowboys fandom.

So what is your honest opinion? The poll options generally start out with the most extreme in favor of Romo, and end with the most extreme not in favor of Romo.

Be forewarned this is a public poll so you'll need the nads to voice your opinion in public over a sometimes controversial issue. ;)

big time overkill...it's only one game and people are going nuts over this.

For me, it is an accumulation of all successful preseason performances. Everything from that touchdown against Oakland that really freaking impressed me as a Jimmy Johnson ballzy decision, to the calm battlefield general mentality he showed last night leading the Boys down the field. It's not just one game for me. It just stands out because he was given the entire game, and had many starters in the beginning.

This just in: Romo also has walked on water and kills crocodiles with his bare hands.

It is my opinion that Parcells will play whoever he thinks will help him win and do it whenever he thinks it is best. And I'm content with that.

I think I still have no idea how good he currently is, is not, or can, cannot, be.

I voted for "stay on the roster, but he'll never be more than a capable backup"

I realize this isn't the popluar opinon right now, and I really did think he played a good game last night. I thought he did an excellent job of managing the game and getting the ball out quickly. He didn't make any costly errors and moved well in the pocket. He seemed to work through his progressions quickly and make the right decisions.

But...IMO several of his throws last night wouldn't cut it in regular season game. He doesn't appear to have the arm strength to run anything other that a WCO which I hope we never see in Dallas.

I'm on this bandwagon. I remember going to his second training camp, and, looking over my notes, I recall how technically raw and erratic he was. Last year, he was improved in the preseason, but I still felt he wasn't all that he was hyped to be.

Now, after watching last night's game, I am renewed in belief to his ability - it was night and day compared to how he looked 2-3 years ago. Now I want to see if he can keep it up.

I'm not trying to bring him down - but some observations:

1) That pass to Crayton, the great catch on the right sideline, was a stupid pass.

2) The touchdown pass to Crayton was a good through, but a second later it would have been intercepted by that MLB.

Now on the positive:

1) Footwork is MUCH better than Bledsoe's. He feels pressure.

2) Quick release, and seems to see the whole field.

Now I want to see him play more.

Exactly, CR, exactly!

That's what I liked about the game last night - last year, I could not care less. My opinion about him was formed (especially after watching his sophomore season - he was soooo behind then).

Now, I am excited to see more, to see if he can maintain this, or if it is just preseason hype. Romor strikes me as the type of player who could look brilliant sometimes, but then just throw the crazy-stupid ones a lot. I know that isn't anything deep or original, considering his 'gunslinger' stigma, but it what I observe from him. He is sooo cool and calm and collected and confident, that I get the feeling he will eventually want to go to far with it and throw that ball into double coverage.

That's why Romo scares me.

"I think he should stay on the roster, but trade him now while he's hot because he's not the future."

Not to pee on your poll, but how how can he stay on the roster and get traded?

I voted the last option, way to early to tell. If Heson does better next week, will that make him a possible starter?

Hey, better than the TO overkill for now.

I'm surprised, we haven't had an overkill of the OL yet, but I thought they played decent, better than expected, so maybe that is why.

Not to mention that Seattle's #1 Defense was not playing at all in the game. They held out most of the #1 defense so Romo has still not faced a "real"
NFL #1 team defense for 4 quarters.

There is merit to that.

But you've heard it here first-- if they sign Romo to an extension then this will be Drew Bledsoe's last season as a Dallas Cowboy.

ROFL!

I was thinking of you last night, Mikey, as I watched Romo's nimble feet, and fumble recovery..couldn't help but wonder how the line play was affected by his agility, as well.

Not ready to annoint him Joe Montana by any means, but I was enthused by his ability to get out of his own damn way.

Drew will be gone when Bill is I think, and that is probably next year, anyway. :)

LOL!

Glad to see you posting L.

This is my rationalle...

I didn't think Romo will sign an extension unless he gets a legit chance to start either this year or next. And I don't think Bledsoe would stand for that-- I really don't.
