Yeah, Buck thinks he's a journalist out there while calling a game. Just shut up and call the game and let the papers worry about ripping players. Aikman wouldnt be bad if he didnt care what people thought of him. I know hes been called a homer etc and since then he has went down the tubes.
What happen to the days of "this is Pat Summerall along with John Madden" and you got the feel of, lack of a better analogy, comfort. With Buck and Aikman you always get the feeling of how long will it take before the first shot is given. You might as well throw Skip Bayless in the booth as well.
Jon Gruden is old school and is a breath of fresh air. I cant stand Mike Tirco. Every time he calls a big play he sounds like a spoiled kid who is excited because they got a brand new toy. Jaws wants to be an encyclopedia out there. I watched 250 hrs of game tape in the last 2 weeks on how the Cowboys run there draw play. Jaws just shut up.
MNF would be awful without Gruden. I'd say keep Gruden and get rid of Tirco and replace him with Mike Emerick hockey's Pat Summerall. For the 3rd guy you need another person like Gruden who has played the game and is also charismatic. Why not the Rock Dwayne Johnson. He played for the U and is awesome with the mic. I know its radical but its something.
