Your new look defense

Actually, with Quinnen Williams, Logan Wilson, DeMarvion Overshown, and Shavon Revel playing for Eberflus after the bye, he can no longer hide.

If the defense still stinks with new blood at all three levels, Eberflus is exposed as the worst DC in football.

The star of that group has 1 sack, another is coming off a serious knee injury, another is a rookie coming off a serious injury, and another is a benched player on a crap defense.

That’s some sort of reinforcements.

This is false.

For starters, he was only a DC for 4 years in Indy, not 7. Did you mean to say that the 7 years combined as a DC and HC?

Further here are his defensive rankings as the Colts DC:

2018

PPG - 10th
YPG - 11th

2019

PPG - 18th
YPG - 16th

2020

PPG - 11th
YPG - 8th

2021

PPG - 9th
YPG - 16th

Not sure anything here shows that when he calls plays he puts really good defenses on the field. They are mostly fairly mediocre. He did have a few Top 10 run Ds, but those teams still weren't great overall.

He was a poor hire.
Internet lying? This was a copy paste fro. A google search about flus defensive history take it as you wish

Imagine if we had traded for that in the offseason AND kept Micah.

Draft defense with the first two picks, and get two more big name free agents, and boom!

While you try to use Williams' one sack this season to downplay his impact, let me add he also has 32 tackles (2nd among NFL DTs), 7 stops for a loss (first among NFL DT's this season), and 25 stops for no gain or short of a 1st down (1st in the NFL through 8 games).

Yes, that's a reinforcement. You're welcome.

If you factor in the Micah trade, the results are:

Dallas loses:
Micah Parsons (26 years old)
2026 2nd rounder

Dallas acquires:
Quinnen Williams (27 years old)
Kenny Clark (30 years old)
2026 1st rounder

Assuming Clark leaves, we swapped a 2nd for a 1st and lost one year of youth (and a bunch of talent).
Yeah this is a win right here. I loved Micah but he has a terrible attitude.

More talent and less crying.

You can blame a lot of issues on having to work with 3 different dcs in 3 years there is no continuity there. Off had schotty for the last 2 years so they are familiar but having 3 new dcs hard to build a defense

Yeah I don't buy the 3 different coordinators in 3 years excuse. When Dan Quinn came in he was a new coordinator and the defense immediately improved.

I think it's about a lack of coaching and talent.

Add Revel to that. Why he would forget the best corner in the league I don't know.

This is so underwhelming. Defense is going to be bad again next year. Maybe not 32nd, but absolutely bottom half if not bottom quarter.

I believe we need another RELIABLE LB before another edge.
Another being overshown or overahown and another? I think another Edge would be a key addition.

I do think clowney has his best game last night but think edge is a need. As is safety

This is just typical Jerry. The man is just so football clueless it boggles the mind. He's trying to rebuild a defense mid-season and we have 7% of making the playoffs. Where was he last April? We should be sellers not buyers. We need draft picks not DTs with maybe a year or 2 left in their prime. This is not how you build a team with any chance. Its the opposite.
