You are the GM. Would you sign Claiborne to a 4 year $20 million extension right now?
Yes or No.

No. I would at least wait until after the 1st 4 games for signs of the newer, better, more durable Claiborne.

And he wouldnt accept such a contract, beleive it. It will be around 7 mil a season.

Depend on the guarantees.

Only a quarter of the contract guaranteed? No brainier.

Nope.

He's got so many issues that go beyond just covering a wide receiver. He's an absolute liability as defender in terms of tackling. Also, the strides he's done in a week of training camp notwithstanding, I'll be swayed when I see how he responds in meaningful real-game action when guys like Brandon Marshall are barking at him and getting into his fragile psyche.

4 year 20 million? Absolutely I will!

But I would wait a few weeks in to see if he's progressed enough to warrant a contract. But if he's solid you bet your bottom dollar that's a deal for a starting corner.

I think he's going to surprise a lot of people this year. Another reason you don't just give up on talent. However if he doesn't perform this season we would of lost nothing
The last two years people have been saying that, and the last two years its been something an injury or a bad game that he can't get over.

After two good (decent, not great) games, absolutely. Want to see him perform and stay a bit healthy.

Decent corners are important AND expensive.

Yea I would. I think he will do much better this year and get paid by another team. I think that he will screw up by going to another team and learning a newer system, I would like to keep him here.

No. He just got a one year deal a few months ago. You don't offer someone a deal like that a few months later.
I understand. the point of the thread is to ask do you take the risk. if this guy has a good year 3-4 picks and is one of the top corners in the league than he could easily command 7-10 million a season.
