YouTube TV and Disney battle

How do you like YTTV. I have Hulu Live and its trash
The Ticket had a whole segment on this yesterday. Sturm was saying this dispute may be different because Disney owns Hulu now, so they may not give in to the other providers. They may be trying to force customers to buy either the standalone ESPN package or Hulu.

Im sick of the whole dang thing. My internet and streaming bills are off the chain. After the season ends Im cancelling it all. Its mostly a bunch of junk anyway. Only thing Im keeping is my internet. Other than that I'll just get a real good digital antennae to watch network tv and the throw ins and just watch the free apps like Tubi and Pluto and the others to get a little more content. I've finally had ENUFF.
I currently have Fubo and have been pretty happy with it, but I've thought about doing this as well. I find myself watching old shows and movies on Pluto or the Roku channel more than Fubo anyway. I watch a few things on Fubo like golf tournaments on Thursday and Friday, and of course MNF, but it's not really that much and I doubt I'd miss it that much if I canceled.

I guess what I'd miss the most is college football on the ESPNs, but there's still plenty of that on the OTA network channels.

I switched to DTV Stream from YTTV, closest thing to normal cable. I should have done it sooner.
Not too get too OT, but how does that work? My mom is paying way too much for DTV and only two tvs. I actually didn't realize DTV stream was still around - for some reason I thought they'd cancelled that. Does the format look like DTV with the guides and all? Not sure she'd want too big a change in the look and channel numbers and all that.

It works and looks pretty much the same, even the channels are the same number. Make sure to get the gemini air device, it is plug and play. You can even put other apps on it like Prime, Netflix, etc. No need to switch inputs and such, it is all right there. The device comes with the same remote too.

Thanks, that sounds perfect for her.

Meanwhile all of these corporations are rolling around in money.

These games they occasionally play as if they are doing their best for us, their loving customers. Who pays for these games?.. you and me.
Luckily the tax breaks they bought will benefit us soon. You’ll see. They will shower us with riches. This is a proven economic model.

At the very very least they will only raise our bill 5-10$ next year.

Winning!!

Anyone who uses YouTube TV, like myself, as of now won't be getting Monday night football until the dispute is settled.

Just got the following email....

In order to deliver a wide variety of sports, news, and entertainment programming on YouTube TV, we enter into agreements with network partners. Each time we renew our contracts with these partners, we advocate for fair pricing and greater flexibility to offer our subscribers the best possible live TV experience. Our current agreement with Disney has approached its renewal date, and we will not agree to terms that disadvantage our members while benefiting Disney’s own live TV products. Despite our best efforts, we have not been able to reach a fair deal, and starting today, October 30, 2025, Disney programming will not be available on YouTube TV. This means you will no longer be able to watch channels like ABC and ESPN or access recordings from these networks in your Library.

We know how disruptive it is to lose channels you enjoy, which is why it’s our goal to bring Disney content back to YouTube TV. We’re committed to continuing to work with Disney to reach an agreement, but if their content is unavailable for an extended period of time, we’ll offer our subscribers a $20 credit.

You can continue to watch Disney’s sports programming by signing up for ESPN directly. For more information on the impact to our 4K Plus and Spanish Plus add-ons, please visit our Help Center.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to advocate on behalf of our subscribers and work towards a new agreement with Disney. We will continue to update our Help Center with the latest. As always, family managers have the ability to cancel anytime.

We appreciate your YouTube TV membership.

Sincerely,
The YouTube TV team
At this point, I've cut out everything Disney in my life, you should do the same.

I've got Fubo as well,....yeah,...I like it. But same as you I end up watching more on the free apps then using Fubo.

Plenty of ways to not worry about YouTube or Disney subs....our lives at home are subs with Netflix, Spotify, and that's it. Even Netflix isn't a must, but 4K content on a service frequently watched it worth the price tag

Dont pay any of these jokers. Its America's Team and they're on antenna TV 75% of the time.

Buy a good antenna, find the best signal and let all those streaming services pound salt.

Whatever games you dont get just use the free streaming sites .

Disney is hemorrhaging subscribers in record numbers.......
"They" are planning to ruin antenna TV too. It's called ATSC3.0, and it will require an internet connection and special box to get past the DRM the media cartel wants to add to over the air TV.

Brave New World coming soon.

Yearrggh, me matey's!

Im considering pulling the trigger on the fubo skinny bundle. Only drawbacks is no NBC but I already have peacock anyway so any damage is minimized. I’m beginning my frugality arc lol.
