Zeke is the best player on his team since being drafted. He is currently tied for best player in his division with another 2nd year player who happens to be a QB (shout out to @Risen Star).

He was not a wasted pick at all. With him this team would likely be 8-3 with Washington, New York (Giants) and Oakland coming up. The tone around here would be TOTALLY different with the team staring at 11-3 with two to play for the division. The last game of the season would have been for all the marbles. But alas...Article 46 of the NFL CBA strikes again.

He is the straw that stirs the drink in Dallas regardless of position. Just like Emmitt Smith was on his teams. Regardless of position.

You had 1 game and your QB basically admitted to not being ready in that game.

What game? Broncos? Yeah, I don't think Dak was ready and I don't think he's been ready in the past 3. Which, again, leads me to QB being the far bigger problem.

This is not saying Zeke wouldn't have helped more, but our RBs are giving enough production to be a competent offense. Dak simply can't consistently make the tough throws, he's just not a very talented QB.

While agree the QB is a big issue, I disagree that he wouldn’t have made a difference. He absolutely would have. The team was rolling when he was running, and the QB is struggling without him. Let’s not forget he is also an excellent blocker as well. Teams are not game planning for the run game right now, do you think they’re scared of Rod Smith and Morris? Not a chance. Zeke is what makes this thing go, and we are seeing the affects of him not being there.

Zeke is the best player on the team. He is a stud. He is an MVP level player.

He is a Clydesdale. He is an alpha male. Zeke literally breaks the will of the opposing defense by physically beating them into submission, while also being a threat to score every time he touches the ball.

Elliott, like Murray before him, makes the offence work. Its never about sizzle WR's its always about the trench players. Elite RB's are at the top end of trench players. They are the backbone of the offense.

So you use 1 game to prove a point? I’ll use the last 3. This team was on a roll before they upheld the suspension, and the reason being? Zeke was carrying this team.

This offense hasn't been great all season, even with Zeke early in the season, not just the Denver game, always in third and long, offensive line play is horrible, nowhere near as good as last year..

We’ve seen Post after Post talking about how taking a RB wasn’t worth the 4th overall pick in the draft.

Here we are sitting at 0-3 without him, and not just losses but blowouts. I think it’s safe to say he is the most important player on this team. He was well worth the 4th overall pick. It’s a shame what the NFL did to this kid.

Eerily seems like the Emmitt Smith holdout...

Obviously Zeke is the most important player on the team. Followed by Sean Lee.

With these two players on the field we are a legit, playoff caliber team, at the very least.

Without them we are gross, disgusting trash.

8 games with Zeke: 28 points per game

3 games without Zeke: 7 points per game

He is a difference maker, no doubt, but one of my takeaways from how badly they are losing without him is how poorly constructed this team is; I think a well-built team could weather the lose of one, or even two, starters...

Taking a RB wasn’t worth it. He’s a great player though, just not worth the 4th pick. I think me and Risen were the only two saying go up for a QB, though I wanted a different one than him. QB is too important and we’re seeing now exactly why Dak was a 4th round pick. He kissed a lot of frogs in college.

I'm not sure which is funnier: that you think the most valuable player on our offense wasn't worth it, or that you cite agreeing with "Risen" as support for your claim. :muttley:

Troy needed Emmitt. There is no shame in Dak needing Zeke. Zeke is a special game-changing player. We went 0-2 when Emmitt held out coming off a SB. There is no shame in Dak needed his horse. Zeke also made this overrated offensive line look better this year. We need him.

If you need to spend that high of a pick on a RB, then your team is seriously flawed. RBs are not worth picks that high and the Cowboys didn’t outsmart the rest of the NFL by doing just that.

These last three games truly show how important a three down TRANSCEDENT running back is. I think we go 2-1 with Zeke. It also shows why stats are meaningless. You would think Morris would be doing ok judging off his YPc, but the run game is been awful. SITUATIONAL FOOTBALL. Zeke always kept us in third and short. Would ALWAYS get at least three yards. Chain mover. Workhorse. His importance cannot be measured. Dak looks like a ******* ******** without him.
