Zeke detained by the police. for 4 minutes

Ezekiel Elliott's night was abruptly interrupted by cops after they detained and questioned him ... before letting him go.

An eyewitness tells us the Cowboys star was on his way into The Social bar Friday night in Columbus, OH when suddenly, and for unknown reasons, a cop lit a flashlight on his face and detained him for about 4 minutes ... before letting him go.

It's unclear why.

We called cops, but they haven't gotten back to us.

Yeah it seems silly but in a slow offseason, I'm sure it'll get a little attention.

He was supposedly pulls over and they searched his trunk before letting him go. It seems strange.
