Zeke Interception Effort. Sure about that?

Let me preface this by saying his lack of effort for a professional athlete in this game was horrible. However, on the interception, are you sure you want your starting running back chasing down an interception? Forget the fact the game was out of hand regardless of how many prayers would have been said...let's not forget what happened to Terrell Davis when he was running down an interception back in 1999. GONE!! ACL!! Career essentially over at that point.

His lack of effort between the hashmarks and pouting should be dealt with accordingly for a millionaire athlete who is supposed to be elite. We'll see how he bounces back after all the criticism. Leaders step it up.

I immediately thought about that T. Davis play and how it worked out so well for him in the end.

I'm sure it's Zeke's fault also that they fed him only 9 times too, because you know he doesn't play with heart..

That was more of a frustration play to me.

Zeke's not actually used to losing, look at his track record. Pouting can be bad, but it happens.
Yeah, I doubt he's ever been part of that big of a beat down.

I'm not defending him, but could he have even made a play on the returner? He was ten yards the other way when Zeke was going the opposite direction

Well I don't have the numbers, but someone here does. He literally has lost just a few games all the way through high school and college, much less our great record last year.

And that was a literal beat down like you said, I just saw it as frustration really. Maybe it will make him mad and he will eat salad all week, who knows but I hope it motives him.

Zeke gave the Ohio State coach the cold shoulder due to lack of use in a loss also.......have some David Johnson in the scheme to keep him involved, or get a #1 Wr that can take the lid off.....either or.
****
Should've given chase after the INT, but its also the time those that want to make a name for themeselves on the Bronco's would've taken a chance on a cheap shot.................keep his head on a big swivel.

I think he could have at least acted like he was going to go after him.

He lost very few games because he's a center piece of the offense. It's not because he's in it for the ride.

Just like against Denver, they stacked the box to stop him. And he only hit 9 carries...

Your logic about Zeke not trying to help on the play is fanciful at best.

So what happens next time it happens?

What if the OL just turned to the bench with arms folded and did nothing?

If Zeke gets special consideration allowing him to just play when he wants to..

This team will unglue.

The team needs to announce what discipline Zeke is going to receive for that level of play.

If he can't start in the next week and has to come in the second series or whatever..

some statement has to be made.

Zeke is disappointing to this point.

A warrior he is not. I think he likes things easy and when it gets tough he rolls over.

I speculated this summer asking the Forum how Zeke was going to react this year.

Most said with a chip on his shoulder..

Really?

Another grandstanding thread sheesh. Can't we have onenthread for Zeke and one for Dak and let that be that? Do we need multiple threads with the OP's attention you knowing? Lol

I didn't see any lack of effort other than the interceptions. His pass blocking was very good and he only had 9 carries, all,of which he was hit as soon as he got to the line. As far as the pouting on the sideline, I've seen much worse. It was magnified because he is Zeke and he was having a bad game. The whole thing has been made much worse than it really is.

You nailed it.:hammer:I said as much yesterday. In high school I think he lost one game. At Ohio State I don't think he lost twice. With the 2016 Cowboys he only lost three games, and one (the finale at Philly) was a giveaway.

Zeke needs to learn how to handle his emotions in games like this. In his defense, he has practically no experience doing so.

Wow, you don't call out your players in public. You do it in the film room or at a players meeting. Don't start him? Another wow, what good does that do? Appease the "fans" ? He is a disappointment? Did you feel that way last year, or last week. Jump off the wagon and stay off. Holier than thow.

INTERCEPTION!! All skilled position players please drop to the ground and cover up to avoid injury! Let the O Line handle the tackling!!

That logic is so ridiculous it's not even funny. And if you watch that particular play, you see the runner stop to change direction, so anyone giving chase from behind would have caught him and possibly stripped the ball. Zeke has no defense for not trying.

I'm willing to cut Zeke some slack -- he's come upon some tough times lately. Aside from that, his momentum carried him away from being in an opportune position to run the man down. Seemed to me like it would have only been a waste of energy. It only looked bad more than anything else. In any case, we'll see how he manages to rebound. It's been said JG intends to have a talk with him behind closed doors. I'd like to think Zeke will rebound favorably.
