great kick return specialists are as rare as star sapphires. their numbers are few. the only reason pollard was running back kickoffs against the falcons is due to the fact we were in a deep hole and hoping for something to kick start us. but the odds are against such a thing. was it worth a try? sure, why not. was it realistic to think he's run one back? not so much.

Man you and your ilk...such HATERS.

Wish a zeke highlight was up...but can;t find one yet. We'll have to use this for now. Just scanning real quick.....

4:13....not only "trucked" but knocked backward 5 yards for a TD. You don't see that very often.
8:21....carried the pile solid 5 yards.
12:56 ...something you must not be watching while you insult others for it....anticipated a poor block by #69 and was right there to keep Dak free.
But of course that's all just Dak, right?

I didn't bother reviewing the whole thing. I am sure there is more just from ONE game. Guys like you and cowboyroy are a total disgrace.

Fair contract according to who? You???

What do you call a fair contract? You think being offered $110 million on a 5 year deal is fair when the other top QBs have received similar in price overall contracts but for 4 years, which makes the per year average much higher, is fair?

Who is being offered a fair contract now? You call that fair?

Dak is still years behind. Plus, Zeke has the security of being under contracr for years from now. Dak does not. Also, most QBs get paid way more than any of their RBs, so what's your point?

This is not accurate. Goff, Wentz and Watson all received EXTENSIONS that don't kick in for 2-3 years. The net result is that their deals really work out to 6 year deals with equivalent or lower averages per year than the 35 a year Dak was offered.

This year Goff will make 22 mil next year it will be 27.5
This year Wentz will make 9 mil and next year it will be 25.4 ..

I don't need to tell you what Dak is making this year.. And had he signed the 35 million deal he would have pocketed a monster bonus ..

Don’t understand why so many Cowboys’ fans try to down play how good Zeke is.

Most people, if not everyone responds to posts as they get to them, rather than reading 5 or 10 more pages, then coming back to the post they wanted to comment on.

Edit: If someone already said this, oops.

You're wrong. You still have to go according to the new deals they got for in years, plus for the total amount. Sure, you can add the current remaining year(s) left in their current contract to try to argue it averages out to a lesser yearly average, but it doesn't reduce the ultimate amount offered and accepted in total of the 4 year extension contract. It's not Dak's fault the Cowboys refused to give him an extension 2 years ago when he was still on his rookie contract. You still have to take the total amount agreed upon and for how long into account.

The simple fact is that Wentz and Goff got extensions that don't kick in until next year.

Had Dak signed the 35 million a year deal then it would have gone as follows.

    2020 - 35 million
    2021 - 35 million
    2022 - 35 million
    2023 - 35 million
    2024 - 35 million .

Now we know they would not have structured the deals that way but that would be the average..

    Meanwhile Goff after his extension
year base salary - prorated roster other total
    signing bonus bonus bonus
    2020 - 1 mill 5 mill 21 mill 1.8 mill 31 mill
    2021 - 25.3 5 2.5 1.8 34.6
    2022 - 10 5 15.5 1.8 32.3
    2023 - 20 5 5 1.8 31.8

I'm no math major but those average out to be less than what Dak would have gotten.

The numbers on Wentz's deal look similar. I won't take the time to post his or Watson's you can look it up yourself. If Dak signed for 35 a year he would average 2-3 million a year more than Goff and Wentz.

35 million a year x 5 = 180 million. Goff's deal was 134 million for 4 years. Again I didn't major in math but I have a calculator and it says that comes to 33.5 million a year. Which certain seems on the surface to be less than 35 million a year but maybe my calculator is off? Wentz signed for 128 over 4 years which I don't even need a calculator to tell me is less than 35 million a year. If you can prove otherwise I would love to see it.

"Best" player on the team is Zack Martin
"Most important" player on the team is Dak

But yeah, Zeke looks fantastic so far this year. If he played like this last year we make the playoffs even with all of our flaws and if he keeps it up, I suspect we win the East even with all of our injuries

To be fair, it's not too common for RBs to go over 100 yards when their teams are losing by so much so early. Week one he had 96 yards and 31 rec yards and 2 TDs and some highlight plays and was great. Last week to expect 100 yards was a big ask but he still had 89 and 33 rec yards. The 100 yard mark is a little arbitrary the way you are throwing it around. 100 yards good game; 96 yards not a good game? Does that make sense? I suspect by the time all is said and done he is in the top 3 in rushing yards this year and probably #1.

So the Cowboys were offering Dak a 5 year / $175 million contract? So where did the 5 year / $110 million contract tabbed come from?

Which is it? $175 million or a $110 million 5 year deal offer?

Those numbers for Wentz and Goff are completely inaccurate. You have to look at the cap hit or it ignores the signing bonuses. Goff's cap hit this year is almost as high as Dak's and both Wentz and Goff will have a $35M cap hit next year.

They picked Zeke because they expected Romo to be around for another 5 years.

Not to mention that he's chasing Don Perkins for #3 all-time in Cowboys history. Right now, Zeke is at 5,590 and Perk finished with 6,217.

I didn't. Troy was the man. 1st overall draft pick. Troy was on every magazine and pictures when one referred to the 90s Cowboys, especially since he earned it on the field. Troy was the captain and leader both on and off the field.
