Outsize zone weak has similar results.Looks like inside zones are the only "weak" plays.
This isn't for average # of box defenders (like in the OP), but here are stats by # of box defenders for Le'Veon Bell (see my previous post for Zeke):What would be these averages against other top runners - with Average defenders in the box?
Say a total of Attempts / Yards / Yards per Carry / Average number of defenders in the box
This is why the eye test is superior to the stat line..
So with 11 guys in the box he can't run lick.. but oh wait he has 4 touchdowns. Oh maybe because it was goal line.
Honestly I hate stats sometimes.
Zeke had two against the Giants in the opener alone.I heard a stat on NFL radio yesterday that said they didn't have a single negative run at home all year. You would think someone busted an assignment or the back slipped at least once behind the line.
That's not really surprising, considering that the Steelers are more of a spread offense.by box, zeke straight destroyed bell
And if they did, there would be plenty of us who would set them straight.I mean you're right, but I don't think anybody would misconstrue that stat as the team stuffing the box and Zeke not doing well.
The big missing piece here is what personnel the offense had on the field when there were 7 in the box. I'm guessing it was 11 personnel most of the time, but it would be interesting to know how much of the time.

That would be awesome. If you're putting these together yourself, could you also eventually do a similar chart about how many were in the box for pass plays? It was 11. I'll put out another chart today or tomorrow showing that.
Eventually. Takes a lot of time to chart. May be a summer project. That would be awesome. If you're putting these together yourself, could you also eventually do a similar chart about how many were in the box for pass plays?
