How many years did it take Spencer to have a CAREER YEAR?

Why not last year when he was in his contract year?

    Why not before?

those claiming he has been playing like this all along are full of it
He is playing the best of his career but why now and why would anyone think it will continue?

He will be too expensive to keep anyway.

Some players are better as they get older. Ellis did not do much in his first contract and was signed cheaply. He became more consistent in the 2nd part of his career. Maybe Spencer is a late bloomer. As much as a Spencer hater I have been, the old boy is having a great year. If Dallas had tons of cap space, I know that even you would have no problem with locking him down. Your telling me that Spencer did not have a much larger body of work to go on than Free or Austin before they signed their long term deals?

Lets put it like this. If you could magically get rid of Free's, Austin's, and Scandrick's contracts with no cap penalty, would you do it to lock down Spencer long term?

Anthony Spencer is playing his 6th season for the Cowboys.

    He turns 29 in January.

Those really were textbook defensive plays. The first by Wilson I think it was, perfectly put his hat on the ball, that's how you make a hit. And then the pass that could've been a touchdown you see the other DB get his hat on the ball. You gotta give credit to the Redskins defense for those plays.

Let Spencer walk and save money for FA.

Bingo.. he's always done the same types of things for us and always had a high number of pressures. This year he's just finishing more often.
