Are you open to the idea of drafting a WR early in this draft? Say, the first three rounds.

I'm not talking about anyone in particular, just whoever you like wherever you like them early in this draft.

I wouldn't mind a WR in the third round who could play the slot and return punts/kicks.

Without a doubt. A very good one might be there in the third round.

I would be ok with it. Though Fleener isn't a WR, he still provides an excellent threat as a TE with his speed and size and great mismatches. If we trade down in the 1st to the early 20s, I would be fine with drafting him.

What if we go TE in round 2, hopefully Fleener though I doubt he's there, and then follow it up with a WR in round 3?

Do you think these boards would explode?

Outside of Fleener, there's no TE I'd really want in Round 2.

I think we could get a good TE in Rounds 3/4.

But to answer your question, I'd be fine with going TE/WR or WR/TE in Rounds 3 and 4. I think a lot of slot type WRs would be there in Round 3 in any case.

Yeah, but I proposed going TE/WR in rounds 2 and 3.

That could happen if we're truly going BPA.

Opposed to it? I think it's a must in the top 4 rounds..

I agree that BPA is the way to go, but I think they should put parameters on it.

    In the first four rounds:
    • Defensive Line
    • Offensive Line
    • Secondary
    • WR/TE

So then you don't believe BPA is the way to go.

If a player like Stephen Hill falls to #45, it would be hard to pass him up.

I'll give you my view on BPA and trades. I see the purpose of trades as a method to match BPA to need.

this team has sooo many frickin holes it is unbelievable...no chance in hell we can fill all these holes..in no particular order

    Center
    Safety
    CB
    DE
    TE
    WR

this doesnt even inclue Guard and OLB..two positions many consider not only to be holes but to be significant holes

I am not at all opposed to taking a WR early. I only ask one thing. Let him be scary fast and good on Returns because I think we're sorely lacking there.

I want somebody who can make defenses pay for doubling Dez or Miles. Dont care if it WR or TE, long as they are with the pick, it is all good.

If a big-value WR is there within the first three rounds then you have to consider the selection BUT that player would have to represent a great value.

If not, then I think a WR could be chosen later or the Cowboys could sign a vet.

How about M Floyd in Round 1 if we can't trade down, and Ingram, Cox, Brockers, and DeCastro are gone?

    I'd only be mildly surprised.

I wouldn't mind a TE and WR in the first three rounds but I'm picky. I specifically like Floyd, Fleener and Sanu in those rounds. But I would prefer Ty Hilton in the 4th Rd; and Junior Hemingway in the 7th. That's right, I want at least two WRs out of this draft+PFA. Bryant and Austin haven't been on the field together at 100% for many games.

I have high enough hopes for Harris, Holmes and Rayway; no hope for Ogletree; no stomach for standing pat with our current core. I want options.
