It's actually quite entertaining. I wish I'd thought to recap it earlier.

I can see why O'Reilly is so popular.

I kinda turned it on mid-segment. It's on right now, but I think they're going to wrap it soon.

They pretty much ran the gamut of hot topics.

Rush Limbaugh - face of the republican party.

Al Franken - what they should do about it. He recused himself from specifically talking about Franken as he doesn't like him. Just said they should re-do the whole election.

    Bush - his legacy

Obama - path made easier re: War.

Financial crisis - don't want to misquote, but I thought he said that both Bush and the Dems ignored the crisis.

Iraq war - kinda missed this piece cuz I was typing out this thread.

Lots of jokes thrown in by both guys...

Sorry for the title. I'll fix it now.

I'm sure the segment will be up on youtube or on Letterman's site tomorrow.

I was entertained. I'm normally not a Letterman or O'Reilly viewer, so it was amusing. I think the funniest moments were when O'Reilly would make a good point and Letterman would go. "that's why you're the #1 rated cable show." or "Well, uh, so!"

Ha. That was a pretty funny interview. When those two get together, they're usually very entertaining.

That's only a part of it, but you can see the vibe they had going..

I'm looking for the entire segment now.

I like O'Reilly. Don't watch him as much as I used to, but he nailed those questions dead-on.

Who made Rush Limbaugh the head of the Republican Party? Limbaugh is a radio talk-host, an entertainer. He's not a politician even if he does talk politics.

But liberals and Democrats so want Limbaugh to be the voice of the Republican Party because then they can dismiss the party and its followers as a bunch of dittoheads.

    So job, Bill. :)

I concur with O'Reilly on Sean Penn, I won't pay to see his movies although I think he's a great actor, but I can't stand to listen to him berate our country and then chummy up to tyrants, like Hugo Chavez, someone who has completely nationalized Venezuela's free market society, and wrested control, but what hell the same thing is happening here yet as a society were to blind to pick up on it. I won't support any far left loon monetarily.

Thank you. "I don't like him he is nationalizing the banks"--Letterman

Sound familiar? Such a double standard because of the race card.

That's not exactly a reasonable comparison. The monolithic US banking concerns (after years and years of lobbying the government for the very rope they used to hang themselves) voluntarily came to the federal government, hat in hand, to beg for a handout or two.. or three... or four. And if they're insolvent - they should be busted up into smaller, less lethal concerns... or DIE. In order to purge them of the poison coursing through their systems - it may be necessary to take them over first.

But it sure looks to me like the federal government is doing everything they can to avoid this scenario. And much to my frustration I might add.

Your friends Frank and DOdd and company are part of the reason we are in this mess suspect no matter how much you want to deny it. They FORCED the banking industry to drop the qualifiers and that was just one of the fun things they did over the last 20 years. And yes the republican congress was part of it too.

Quit parroting the dogma. Most of the subprime loans were held by big commercial ventures not regulated by that rule. Their ponzi scheme of derrivative flipping was making them tremendous profits and they could've cared less about those regulations.

As for the two in question, I don't care much for either. Though if they were entertaining this time, that's a plus. It's always easier to fix the world's problems with clever one liners. Many people can do that.
