IRVING - The Cowboys agreed to terms with five more rookie free agents, including Duke linebacker Ryan Fowler, Columbia safety Steve Cargile and East Carolina receiver Terrance Copper.

The names of the other players weren't released.

Notre Dame defensive tackle Cedric Hilliard, Florida defensive end Darrell Lee, Arkansas-Monticello guard Darrick Sanders, Houston receiver Brandon Middleton, Oregon State receiver James Newson, Arkansas safety Tom Crowder and Texas defensive end Kalen Thornton had previously come to terms with the Cowboys.

None of the players have signed, but the Cowboys expect the deals to be finalized today. Rookie minicamp is Friday through Sunday at the team's Valley Ranch headquarters.

Utah offensive tackle Thomas Herrion, a graduate of Fort Worth Polytechnic, will get a tryout at the camp.

    Collins to Cowboys?

Quarterback Kerry Collins is out in New York.

Could he be headed to Dallas?

Collins, released by the Giants on Wednesday after five years with the team, has a connection to the Cowboys.

Sean Payton, the Cowboys' quarterbacks coach/assistant head coach, came to Dallas from New York in 2003 after tutoring Collins the previous four seasons as the Giants quarterbacks coach/offensive coordinator.
