You know what would make Garrett actually look better? Winning like Sean Payton does.
Game management isn't just about calling the timeout to avoid a penalty. It is about getting the play call in on time to avoid the penalty. Payton, Brees and the Saints did not do that well on that one drive. It happens.
very coach makes mistakes. No everyone on this planet makes mistakes. The difference in our case is our coach has already cost us many games in the past. Red is beyond atrocious and needs to go.
I think Sean just went home. And as a Cowboys fan, that makes me happy
No he is trying to say Garrett is not responsible.
He s comparing Garrett's glaring and repeated mistakes to one game in the toughest place to play in the league
where Bree's burned timeouts in a 2 nd and long situation.
It's silly. If you want to compare Payton's resume with Garrett's by all means do it.
Not only that, some of the play calling I see on a weekly basis from guys who are "so much better" is positively mind boggling.
mmmm, no. That is not my point. My point is that his "game management issues" are exaggerated (and they are), and that everyone has them, even the very best. if you want to criticize him there are better issues. simple point.
I agree sir.
And the evidence that it wasn't completely on Brees? Any evidence of a late play call? Looked a lot like Brees taking way too long at the line.
Lord Payton today in particular. Refusing to feed the ball to Khiry Robinson when only down two scores in the first half? LOL.
Did you ignore that I said Payton, Brees and the Saints(to include assistants and other players)?
Well when drew Bree's comes to the sideline to explain to Payton when he needs to call a timeout in a critical game I might believe that they are exaggerated here.
Garrett has more than earned his critics. He has made repeated mistakes and should have been fired after the 12 season but we are stuck wasting at least one more with him next year.
I agree wholeheartedly with the OP. Jason Garrett is just as good as Sean Payton. I don't see what all you are complaining about.
Um, at least Sean Payton has a playoff win under his belt as a head coach. Oh yeah, he has a Super Bowl ring.
Garrett has neither.
Sean Payton is a good coach. Why would you not want him over JG? Payton is a proven winner. Just look at how the saints performed without him last year.
You are exhibit A sir. Zero proof for what you just spouted. Did you have a mic on them? No. More exaggeration and drivel.
Bottom line would Payton have won at least one of these three season finales if he were the head coach here?
I can't imagine a scenario where he would not have.
He definitely would not have been punting on 4th and shorts on the other teams 40 with the worst defense in the league that's for sure.
Don't have time to hang out fellas, just wanted to stop in and point it out yet again. Watch the next game... lets see if there are any "game management issues." After all, it only happens with Garrett, right?
