Post here if you know of some common misinformation about a musical artist. I'll go first. One false belief is this:

Bon Scott was AC/DC's original singer.

Not true. Their first singer was Dave Evans. The band did not have the massive success with Evans that they had with Bon Scott and later with Brian Johnson. With Dave Evans they did record at least one song (Can I sit next to you, girl), and they performed live with him. However, they never recorded an album with him, and they didn't become a household name with him. You can find a video of the band performing "Can I sit next to you, girl" with Dave Evans. His style was very glam rock, which didn't fit AC/DC's grittiness. He wasn't a bad singer. He just wasn't a good fit for that band. Bon Scott was actually their limo driver at one point. I'm not sure of the details of the ousting of Evans and then the hiring of Scott. Maybe they figured out that their chauffeur could sing and then went with him.

Your turn. Post any misconceptions that you know about.

Anton Fig, the drummer in Paul Shafers band that was David Letterman's house band was the studio drummer when KISS recorded ther Dynasty album.
