IRVING — When the Cowboys played the Giants in the season opener Sept. 5 in New York, the team had a plan in place for him not playing. That’s because he had been out three weeks recovering from a lacerated spleen.

“Even though it didn’t really show it in the stats, that was probably one of my more-proud games,” Witten said, “just because of the mindset going into that and being able to be an energy boost for your team in a situation to start the season off.

“Obviously looking back at this film there is a lot of emotion with that. Probably not the healthiest I’ve ever been.”

Witten is a Giants killer. We NEED him to win this game. I know Miles and Dez are the skill guys, but at the end of the day, if we need to convert a big 3rd or 4th down, you know you can count on Witten to be in the right place. He's shown it many times in the past, especially against the Giants.
