    My thoughts from Tuesday’s practice:

*The scout in me wants cornerback Bryan McCann to make this team.

*Tuesday was the first day that the Cowboys had practiced in pads since last Wednesday. After two straight practices of hats and jerseys, it was nice to see them working in helmets and shoulder pads.

*Noticed something new at practice today, with all the knee injuries to the offensive linemen (Colombo and Kosier) in practice, all the linemen were wearing their knee braces in shorts.

This is a Parcells thing. He used to make all the o-linemen wear them, too.

I think they have to find a way to keep McCann on this roster.

I don't think there's any way that he can slide through waivers and make it to the practice squad, especially with the need that teams have at the CB position (like Baltimore).

And looking long-term, Jenkins will be looking for a big payday and Scandrick will want more money as well. And Newman can't play forever.

I like the thoughts of having a capable, young cornerback waiting in the wings.

Did you hear Norm on The Ticket today, saying that he overheard Jerry say, "Call Baltimore about that", and then when he noticed Norm walking up to him he smiled and finished with, "call them and see if they are interested in Witten." Interesting......

I hope they were calling about Jamar Wall.

Show them the Hall of Fame game tape where he "shut down Chad Ochoconco"!

I don't get all the love for an "in the box" safety who runs a 4.6.

I'd keep McCann over Church and Sam Hurd.

Church is a Football player, so what if he doesn't time well, neither did a RB named Emmitt.
