The Cowboys will host Mississippi State defensive tackle Fletcher Cox.

Cox, a 6-4, 298 pounder, can play defensive tackle in a 4-3 scheme or a end in a 3-4 formation.

Mel Kiper has Cox ranked the third best defensive tackle in the draft behind Memphis' Dontari Poe and LSU's Michael Brockers. Poe, who Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said he was impressed with, is not scheduled to visit Valley Ranch.

Fletcher Cox is a realistic pick for Dallas at their first round place. He actually played and showed good game skills on tape. He would be much less of a gamble for such a high pick, than would Poe. Poe is enticing, but the team needs to guard against possible missing with the pick.

It should come down to BPA...and if David DeCastro is there, the trigger pulled. If he isn't then Cox, Coples, Ingram, or even Barron could be the small selection group.

If the team trades down, then a broad scenario could evolve, but that would involve an additional second round pick, and that would add tremendous depth in this draft.

Think they are down to Cox, Poe or DeCastro at 14, not the DBs.

Mayock has Cox ranked #1 as DT over Brockers and Poe and that's exacting how I would rank them myself. I think Cox would bring a dimension across from Ware that we don't have !!!

I think Fletcher Cox is a very good player, and would be ok with him in round 1.

    PERFECT!

However, it is doubtful that Cox will last until the 14th pick.

Front 7 player ... not a reach like POE or couples ... i wouldnt mind it. Im thinking decastro is gone at 12 or 13 right before we pick.

Coples would not be a reach. If Dallas has an opportunity to draft him, Jerry would do that in a heartbeat. Coples would help Ware a lot.

Cox Barron or kirkpatrick for me. I'm still partial to Barron or dre but wouldn't be too upset for cox. Wait that didn't sound right. I wouldn't be too upset about picking fletcher ;)

I think there's a better chance of Cox being there at #14 than Harrison Smith being there at #45. We may have to trade up for Smith IMO...

Is there still room on the Fletcher Cox bandwagon?

I was heated when Cullen Jenkins picked Philly over us, but picking Cox would more than make up for it.

Plus, imagine the possibilities with his last name.

"Cox with massive penetration up the middle"

"Eli Manning gets smothered by Cox"
