IRVING, Texas -- Commandment No. 7 on Bill Parcells’ list for quarterbacks is this: Throwing the ball away is a good play – sacks, interceptions and fumbles are bad plays. Protect against those.

I wonder just how bad of a play a sack is. Yes, it hurts the ability to keep drives alive and score points and the sack/fumble Saturday vs. Tampa Bay was picked up for a touchdown. But for the most part a sack sure beats an interception.

Tony Romo has been sacked 30 times this year and will face the NFL’s sack leader on Saturday in Philadelphia’s Jason Babin, who has 18 through 14 games.

..way less passing inside our own 5 yd. line.

The last two weeks, Romo dropping back and passing from there. The results have been a safety and a fumble returned for a touchdown.

In the first case, it ended up being the difference in the Giants win along with the ensuing kickoff that followed the safety and resulted ina FG..5 points in about 4 minutes..

..and in the last game against Tampa, we opened the 2nd half with poor field position, compounded it with a penalty and then Romo got blindsided dropping to pass and it was returned for 7 pts.

This isn't a Romo rant, it's just that just like taking a sack over a safety, I say run the ball and if we can't get a 1st dwn. then kick it.

It just puts alot of pressure on Romo to pass us out of trouble and bad things happen down there. Garrett needs to be much more careful and stop putting Romo under so much pressure back by our own GL.

The play in the Giants game was a 2nd-and-9 from the 9 yard line, not inside the 5. There's no reason to limit the offense in that situation.
