Excluding QBs if you could pick any player in the NFL to have on our team, who would you pick?

Aside from quarterbacks, what one player do you think could change the fortunes of this team?

For me, I'd take Luke Kuechly. To have a better, younger, more durable version of Sean Lee could completely change the face of this defense and team. I think a great MLB is almost just as important as having a great QB.

A field general with great leadership qualities is what this defense sorely lacks.

To add to our current team, or starting from scratch?

Current team. What one player (if any) could make this team substantially better by himself?

A guy who you think if we had, we're in the playoffs and further.

Sherman was almost my choice. Having a guy like him changes the entire attitude of our defense. I think he'd bring out the passion, tenacity and relentlessnes that this defense needs in a bad way.

I always think...if Ware had the confidence and attitude of Sherman...if he weren't such a nice guy...

I'm tempted to go with a guy like Watt or Sherman, but I feel like the defense is too far gone for one guy to help much. So in that light, I'm going to say LeSean McCoy. He would add a dynamic of speed and explosiveness that the offense is somewhat lacking. And, assuming the coaching staff utilizes it correctly, an upgraded running game could help to keep the defense off the field a bit more.

I do think the OP is right about the Mike position and also because of Lee being out.
But I'd take a guy I liked in this draft though unproved will grow into a Pro Bowl guy.
Khalil Mack. I still would like Aaron Donald. sigh

You have to have real pressure for this D to work.
That Gino Atkins idea isn't a bad one either

I would have said Clowney, but it's hard to pick a rookie for instant impact
