    The chance to run his own room as the primary secondary coach was too good to pass up for Brett Maxie, prompting him to choose a job with the Tennessee Titans rather than staying with the Cowboys.

    “That was a big key for me,” Maxie said. “They got a lot of young talent. It’s a great opportunity for me.”

    Maxie was offered a two-year deal to stay with the Cowboys, which was very tempting because of the respect he has for owner Jerry Jones, coach Jason Garrett and defensive coordinator Rob Ryan and the fact that he is a Dallas native who went to high school at Madison before playing in college at Texas Southern.
