Cowboys coach Jason Garrett has not dismissed the idea of a switch to the 4-3 on defense.

But he said the team is not at the point yet where it needs to decide whether to keep the 3-4 that it has played since the arrival of Bill Parcells.

“We played a lot of three-man line, and we also played some four-man line in different situations this past year,” Garrett said Thursday at Valley Ranch. “We haven’t gotten to the point where we’re going to talk about what we’re going to play yet. We’re still evaluating the tape. ... Let us go through the process. You’ll see some of that stuff once we get back on the field.”

One could make a reasonable argument that the Cowboys' two best defensive linemen at year's end were Ratliff and Lissemore.

According to Broaddus, Lissemore is better suited for defensive tackle than defensive end. In a four man line, both players could be on the field at the same time.

Personally, I like the idea of Sean Lee playing behind Ratliff and Lissemore.

yeah not to mention ware on the line rushing. Heck hatcher might can play RDE if he gets back down to 290 or 285. He does have 4.8 speed at 290lbs, talk about a load. Not unless we get a chance to draft couples or another DE that can play the strong side.
