Just switched from an iphone to an Android and was wondering if anyone knows any good apps on the Android platform that can't be found on the iphone.

I've liked this so far (friend recommended):

    Any suggestions out there?

Someone recommended an app called Astrid and I downloaded it a few days ago...it's a good task to-do app that syncs with Google Calendar!

Oh, and Gas Buddy is GREAT

I can only tell you the ones I have. What exactly you want really depends.

    • AWDLauncherEX
    • Astronomy Picture of the Day
    • Chess for Android & Chess Free (I like both for different reasons)
    • ConnectBot SSH client. If you don't SSH, don't worry about it
    • ES File Explorer (best file manager I've found so far)
    • Obviously, any of the Google Apps. They are all kick ***.
    • GPS Essentials
    • JewelLust
    • Jewels
    • NASA HD
    • OpenTable
    • Newegg App (though I only use it to look up stuff, always use the websites before buying)
    • Password Safe Lite
    • ScrambledNet (awesome puzzle game)
    • Solitaire (though it seems to be getting more and more bloated)
    • xScope Browser (best web browser on Google IMO)

I have several others but they are either games that are more than just to burn time while waiting or riding a subway / train or are Space / Astronomy centric. If you are into that stuff, I will gladly post them.

I would add to this TuneIn Radio and if you are wanting a good Solitare game that isn;t bloated install the on made by Ken Magic. It's #23 under the free games section.

I second that. TuneIn Radio is a great app.

For a music player I use PowerAmp.

For traffic congestion I use Glob Traffic and Radar.
