We've got members currently deployed in some places most of us would pay to never see. They are away from friends, family, and loved ones. Take a minute or two out of your day to honor those who honor us now with their service, and honor those who have served before.

Thank you to all the active, reserve, and retired men and women who have served our country. I mean that.

    Casmith07, come back safe man.

I usually only celebrate Memorial Day because it gives me the day off. But I like casmith07 and I have family in Afghanistan and I hope she returns safely. So, today, I will take a few moments of silence while at church to pray for those who serve our country, even if it is over something I disagree with.

we could never thank our military enough, so let's just try when we can to do things for active military and retired vets.

    It is the
    not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

    It is
    not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

    It is
    not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

    It is
    not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

    It is
    not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

    It is
    not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

This is the main thing. I really don't even get along with my sister-in-law. We butt heads, but I still want her home safely. So we sent some shouts out to the whole situation in church today.

Great post, Hos. Unfortunately, I think the POLITICIAN is slowly taking away some of these things for which our vets have fought and sacrificed for.

In church today, the preacher was speaking of a man who lost his arm in the war. The soldier's surgeon was a compassionate surgeon. When he amputated his arm he felt bad for the young man who lost his arm. It couldn't be saved.

The surgeon waited by his bed throughout the night until he awoke, so he could tell him how sorry he was about having lost his arm.

The kid's response was, "I didn't lose my arm. I gave it fighting for a cause."

A Memorial Day theme no doubt, but he made the point well.
