one championship would change alot of opinions...lebron
Eli is most likely getting in. The difference between Romo and Eli where stats are concerned is vast. Just don't see how you can keep a guy out who has an all-time top 5 passer rating if ends up with a championship too. IOW, stats alone don't mean a damn thing, but coupled with a SB they do. That's coming from someone who is not a huge fan of Romo's game.
Eli has alot better chance though, and would be considered even right now.
Romo probably wouldn't get in with one ring cause haters would say the one was a fluke or something. Romo has an uphill battle when it comes to public perception, and anything to do with the HOF or even ProBowl consideration is based on public perception.
Right now, the public doesn't even consider Romo a top 10 QB much less a HOFer.
Sorry, Romo has zero chance of getting into the hall. Fair or not, he is recognized as the biggest choker in modern American sports. Like people say, all his bad moments seem to come on national TV... On the biggest stages. I feel bad for Tony but there's nothing he can do to repair his image, that legacy was cemented in most people's eyes 3 weeks ago in DC.
Well I am a fan of Romo's game, but I just don't see him getting the votes unless the Superbowl win that he gets is considered to be cause he put us on his back.
If the win is cause he was the bus driver, then it is doubtful. You are talking perception here, and if he puts his team on his back then people will give him more props.
If he did, the HOF Bust would have him with a helmet on, looking downward, with slumped shoulders.
Unfortunately, I don't think time will tell who's right...
Unfortunately, I think this is true. While some of the blame is on Tony, I think the amount of negativity thrown his way is undeserved.
Right now the better question would be, Does he get into the Ring of Honor?
If by nothing, you mean SB Championships, then you are correct.
But then you'd be saying the same for Moon and Marino.
If Drew Pearson got in then Tony can get in.
Of course, Tony would get booed a lot at the ceremony.
No Way...can't really take the question seriously.
lol @ this question. "Come on Man"
Mens, if we all chanel our thoughts at Chuck to make him take the queston serious like maybe he will and maybe he will give us his opinon.
all together, send in your thought waves . . . . again . . . .repeat . . . .c'mon Chuck!
if he does it would be for something bizarre like for being one of the most maligned players ever in the NFL without ever having committed a crime or something like that
his numbers would be irrelevant
Chuck has his mind shut.
But, Chuck, think about all them high QB ratings Romo posted, huh? Think about all the Romo to Witten love passes.
Think about Witten to Dez, Dez crossing the goal line and then on the sidelines whipping his hat around like he was gonna hat whip someone he was so glad. . . .
He might not even be inducted into the Ring of Honor. His reputation nationally is tarnished right now for writers to vote for him without a ring.

Cowboy fans don't even acknowledge that Romo is a good QB on a bad team, much less the rest of the league!
I would bet Romo could win 2 SB's and never get considered for the HOF.
in my opinion. I haven't crunched any numbers, just a gut feeling. For the record I am NOT a Romo basher. He could have a Lombardi trophy by now (2007) if we wouldn't have been badly outcoached that day and Crayton hangs onto the ball.:banghead:
