It seems like every thread eventually leads to a "fire Garrett" quote somewhere. I just don't get it. Has he had little issues in games that sometimes make me want to bash my head? Yes, but if you watch football ALL coaches have those moments.

Listen, Garrett took over a 1-7 team and brought them to 5-11. He then went on to record three consecutive 8-8 seasons where the final game was for the playoffs. Is that really that bad? I understand hating being in a rut, but do you really want to fire every coach after 3 years? Give it time

I belive Garrett is the board to leverage us out of the rut rather than the mud that keeps the tires spinning. For years fans have said "maybe we're not ad talented as they tell us." I think this was the case. You can't look at those three 8-8 seasons and ignore what has been dismantled and rebuilt within them with no drop in record. Everyone mentions the Seahawks and 49ers as models. They sucked (like top 5-10 picks every year) for about a decade before they got good.

We are going through a similar rebuild as them without the drop off. Garrett has things to learn, but you can't deny some of the changes that coincidentally align with his tenure as head coach. Old players who underperformed are gone. Crazy trades are pretty much gone. Dumb FA signings... gone.

There are no doubt better coaches than him, but let's build for the future. The traits are there. Just like with players. Look for traits. And most importantly he had Jerry's ear. It's unfortunate that that has to be considered, but it does. I just don't understand the rush to fire the guy. He's laying groundwork. Winning takes time. If you wanna fire a coach every couple of years because they don't win then you'll never win. You can be the Redskins if you want to. I don't.

Garrett has managed to turn one of the oldest teams in the NFL into one of the youngest in 3 seasons. All while staying in playoff contention every year...

It's time to put up or show up. I personally think he is terrible but I hope his learning on the job has worked and becomes the next Landry. Either way, he has this year to do it in or he is gone.

Garrett has cost us at least 2 games the past 3 seasons with his horrid clock management which could have/would have gotten in to the playoffs each year. I won't even get in to all the blaming and all the people who took the fall for him and he remains the head coach. He needed to go after the loss to the redskins in 2012.

I think some of it might be his inability or unwillingness to adjust to game situations sometimes and I know he has sometimes gotten away in the second half of what was actually working pretty well in the first half. I also think that his emotionless demeanor when things are going south instead of taking a bite out of someones *** that other coaches will do..........can you picture Jimmy or even Belichick after someone ran a wrong route or something ending in a turnover just clapping and patting them on the back as they come off the field saying it's alright....those are a couple of issues I personally have with him.

A lot people refer to the icing the kicker incident...I have to say that was NOT his fault, he was told by one of his assistants (who he very well should be able to trust in those instances) that there were too many players on the field and he knew that the penalty would have taken them out of FG range.

So, he needed to go after 2 seasons... non losing seasons? That's idiotic.

He does not appear to be a difference maker, does not make the some of the parts better, and most importantly never seems to learn from his mistakes.

When you cost your team 2 trips to the playoffs with clock management issues yes you should be. Only reason Garrett has made it to .500 seasons is Tony Romo. Garrett is just as bad at coaching as Campo. The Packers game this past season should tell you everything you need to know about this guys coaching ability.

He's been in the league for decades as a player & coach. Some of his mistakes are just dumb. Dumb is kind of hard to stomach from a guy who is supposed to be so bright.

I don't hate him. I don't know him. IMO he sucks as a HC.

Too many people have made up their minds and will never change. They took JJ's "in training" quote and ran with it instead of understanding every coach still learns something new every year. All the historically great coaches started off losing, but built off it. Consistency is the key to winning in sports, changing coaches every 3 years is not the way to run a franchise.

It's easy to criticize the coach, especially when he's been operating despite the compromising efforts of a GM who has so long been sorely unqualified to serve in that capacity. While it's true JG was thrust into the HC position before he was ready to assume that position, he's been invaluable in improving the roster. He also is making worthwhile strides to change the culture of a roster that had long been saturated with pitifully spoiled players clinging to entitled attitudes. I think it'd be no less than tragic to lose that in 2015.

I have enjoyed the Garrett era and watched his persuasive manor with jerry allowing this team to change its makeup from an old team full of past stars to a young and smart team loaded with team first players. I did have a period where I just had enough of the JG game management calls and thought he should be shown the door. Cheers to Jerry for realizing that Jason has this team on the rise and he rode out that window of Garretts mistakes and hopefully without half the defense going down again we will be surging as a challenger this year. I see it so. And this is a team that will get better in time if we can ride the Romo era out and then get some new smart and productive QB during the transition.

Yeah, Garrett caused the D to give up a ton of points to a backup, scrub, QB. I love how everyone ignores his top offenses and then blames him for the defenses that he doesn't control. I'll let other people argue in this thread. I just wanted it our there 8-8 isn't bad when you're rebuilding. And we have been for 3 years. Make no mistake.

I want Garrett back for another contract. 2-3 yrs. If he can't succeed after then it's time to move on.

He has zero game management skills, and that's critical for a head coach. Simply put, he doesn't understand how to use his timeouts and he doesn't understand play calling at all, it's as if he's playing madden with his buddies.

I tried finding the GIF of it, but I remember last year Garret was trying to use a timeout and Romo ran over to him and explained to him why we shouldn't. I can't exactly remember the details of it, but I believe it was against Washington? If someone can post it that'd be nice, it shows just how bad Garret's game management skills really are.

He's a bad coach plain and simple. We have no advantage with him. In a league of parity, you need a solid head coach which he isn't.

We'll see what he's made of this season.

They play the toughest division in the league.

I would never put money on Jason out coaching anyone but we'll see.
