Jerry is gonna get that 6'8 TE in the 2nd round, I can feel it!!
Looks like DJax is closing in on a deal with the skins, so the splash will probably be someone else. Also I don't think we have the cap space to do much of anything at this point.
According to ESPN Stats & Information, the Dallas Cowboys have $5,754,917 in salary-cap space as of today. This does not include the space from Miles Austin on June 1st.
I would hope this isn't the case. It isn't like we are one really fast WR away from the superbowl, so adding that kind of salary to your cap would be silly.
I just don't see Jackson being a fit in Dallas in the least...I could care less who else he poisons...
IMO, Philly is better off without him...
I guess he would open some stuff up, but Tony hasn't exactly been Mr. On-Point with the deep ball lately.
He can kick rocks
do you even know how many TE's have been drafted in the 2nd round in their entire history?
it's about 7th on the list of positions taken in the 2nd, but people still bang the drum anyway.
he cant resist it
and neither can people making the claim despite the facts of the entire history of the cowboys it's not even in the top 5 of positions taken in the 2nd.
but rage on with the cliches.
I hear ya on that. Now lets remember that we have gone to the 2nd round well... quite a bit ....since we landed a stud TE in the 3rd round in Jason Witten
The new TE coach Mike Pope has to get more out of Escobar than what the Cowboys got out of their other second-round tight ends in Anthony Fasano and Martellus Bennett.
When fans watch Jerry take one in the second round 3 times since 2006 when they already have the best TE in the history of the organization on the roster, they tend to make snarky remarks like that.
it doesn't matter what jerry does.
""they" tend to make any remark they can.
The point is those remarks get made because it continues to happen. Jerry has drafted 3 TE in the 2nd round in 7 years. He continues to waste resources addressing a position that doesn't need addressed ignoring others that do. That's a problem and it's a trend with JJ. People are going to comment.
and comment and comment and comment...
...for a reason.
