We also have zip coming from our 3rd WR (and not much coming from our 2nd WR), which means we have to make Jason Witten fill the void in the intermediate passing game (4th in NFL in receptions, most by a TE by a significant margin) and we can't provide our tackles with extra help. We also run a lot of deep routes down the field, and not much 3 step drop routes.

Perhaps they think they will feel better after ranting about Jerry.

Clearly it does not work well, as evidenced by how frequently the treatment is repeated. :D

    They're awfully quick going backward...

But the problem isn't his feet. The guy is nimble for his size. He is athletic. The problem(s) seem to be more with technique-- leverage and not using his "punch" well or often.

Because it's right time after time after time after time.

The only correct response to this thread is to point out the owner shouldn't be evaluating the talent. The team will truly improve when the owner isn't making these kinds of statements on personnel every week.

He doesn't know what he doesn't know.

He thinks Free is struggling. He's in a funk. Going through a bad stretch.

The truth is Doug Free was never a good starting tackle. He just thought he was because he can't evaluate talent. Once he paid him like a legitimate top T and the training wheels came off so he could earn that money, his warts showed. He's just not any good. Get over it and move on. Throw that bad contract on the immense pile of bad contracts over the years.

But this is the Jerry double whammy. Not only do you get the initial horrific decision of signing Doug Free as if he had talent, but he then follows it up with a just as horrific decision of sticking with him for years to try to justify the first decision.

The guy can't play. Next. Pretend he's a cornerback, if it'll make it easier for you to churn.

I wonder if the problem with JJ is that he listens to TOO MANY PEOPLE? He thinks he's getting good advice from talking to many people and position coaches and takes players that the COACH/SCOUT want.

A good GM should have a blue print and built accordingly instead of getting swayed by too many opinions.

A real GM isn't led by the nose. A real GM actually has a vision for his team.

This notion that Jerry is fine as long as he's got a staff holding his hand and leading him in the right direction is nonsense. There is no more important person in your football organization than the GM. If you get no substance from that guy, you're team is operating with one hand tied behind it's back.

We even go one better. We also get no substance from our VP of Personnel. You have to get to Tom Ciskowski for the first legitimate voice in our personnel department and all he's ever been involved with is failure. So who knows how good he even is?

Jerry having a bad case of diarrhea of the mouth worse than ever this year is exasperating both the Jerry problem and all the other problems that the team had had for years. If he would just shut it, we'd all be happier.

Whether he's right or not, it's probably true that the problems with Free are more nuanced than just 'he sucks.' It's good to get some insight into what the team might be thinking, even if it's through a Jerry-filter.

Yep, it seems every week Jerry says the same thing about a different player who is playing poorly. It's weird.

Jerry doesn't want to admit that Free is not who he thought he was.

Our idiot GM identifies that "we ask our tackles to do a lot" and that it isn't working.

Our idiot coach either can't see it, or doesn't have enough common sense to reduce the stress on the tackles via adjustments to the offense so as to allow for improved offensive play.

Naw, don't change anything. It's easier to just let Romo scramble like madman while the line collapses around him.

Yet you come into these threads complaining about those who complain. Not much difference in my book.
