I was just about to point that out...
I think so too.
Ryan got pushed onto Jason and when it didn't work out as planned, Jason got his turn...or at least more say than last time.
Hey, guess what? This thread is about Larry Lacewell's take on the hiring of Monte Kiffen!
This was a Jerry hire, because he listed to his advisor, Larry Lacewell, who coincidentally can't shut up about the decision.
I have it on good authority from two different people that this was Jerry's doing. Jason is along for the ride.
Just imagine if this wasn't Jerry's or Jason's but Stephen's hire.
This is the absolute dumbest statement I have ever read.
Lacewell... I hope you didn't reproduce.
Larry Lacewell: Kiffin is "best hire Cowboys have ever made"
Better than Coach Landry??? Blasphemy!
Larry Lacewell is our Matt Millen
Jimmy Johnson was apparently a mistake too.
Although I wouldn't be surprised if Larry is forbidden to speak his name in Jerry's presence.
Tom Landry. He was a George Halas/Vince Lombard/George Allen contemporary.
Jimmy Jornson will not even compare with Bill Parcells as history passes. Parcells did his work with like 4 teams. Johnson never was able to turn Miami around at all.
The realty whether or not we all like it or not, the marriage b/w Jones and Johnson will be one of the greatest in NFL history, It bore 3 SBs and a whole generation of Pro Bowlers and head coaches around the league.
Jerry Jones just isn't the reason we are where we are. It's because Jones has never been able to re-capture the magic of his first marriage with Jimmy.
Hey..it happens. I still like my 1st wife but it was only good for the first 5 years..then poof.
So let's all get over it.
I truly believe at some point we'll be OK..but right now..it's still bitter for all us fans to watch all this.
Let's wait and see, To me, what is important is how the players get thru all this..will they rise to the occasionlike the first year Parcells came and improve..?
Or will they continue to not show enough guts and harmony..?
That's what I want to know. Where are the players on these past two seasons of failure/success and the renewed attitude and commitment to their own careers..?
Because in the end it's about the players doing it. SO far..they haven't.
:hammer: REdBaLL ExPreSS:hammer:
Third that! .. I like the hire. This team needs to be taugh how to play fundamentally sound! He's a technician
Best hire ever? Tex Schramm
Ask Jerry who his best hire ever is. I'm sure he'll say "Jerry Jones".
Ya, that seemed to work well didn't it?
Important hire I would agree, but Jimmy was the best ever. Back to back Super Bowls in such a short time and really responsible for three Super Bowls in a short time.
With as many inside sources as are touted on this site, I'm surprised ESPN doesn't park a truck in Reality's driveway.
Would have beeen an outstanding post had RedBallExpress understood the components to what made Jimmy great in Dallas and not so in Miami.
It's so simple really, and yet the great unwashed seem to think it is an indictment on Jimmy when it clearly is not.
Larry Lacewell's most be having delusion again best hire ? Really sounds like typical Larry Hyperbole.
Look I am not upset about the Kiffin hire at all
Larry can you put down that scotch for a second and think before you make such an asinine comment like that to Dallas fans.
The best hires ever in the Dallas Cowboys history are
1. Tom Landry
2. Jimmy Johnson
3. Tex Schramm (Though you may have a case for Tex being ahead)
