Man, he's not letting up.
McCain should go on Letterman and apologize for lying to him, address the issue straight on like a man.
Letterman will not let this go and getting trashed every night is not doing McCain any good.
What is he mad about?
The day McCain "suspended" his campaign, he was scheduled to be on Letterman's show. Well, a couple of hours before they were to film it, he called Letterman and said he had to "rush back to Washington" because the economy was going in the tank.
Letterman said, sure, that's fine. Do what you need to do.
During the filming of Letterman, they get a live feed from another CBS studio in NY and it's McCain getting makeup put on to go on with Katie Couric. So, needless to say, he lied to him.
Letterman has been all over him since.
Here's a video of the whole deal:
Your giving Letterman way too much credit, who takes what late night hosts say seriously?
Damn working on the economy, the Letterman Show is more important.
The problem is he told Dave he had to fly right back to washington to address the crisis....only to go do another show, meet with a person who is a big contributor and actually waits until the next day to fly to washington.
Dave whining is one thing, John lying like that to someone that has been good to him is another.
That's the problem Dave has, especially that.
Not exactly rushing back to Washington to work on the economy.
Yeah. McCain was working on his economy, not the economy.
To say the least.
Believe it or not, I grasped that. I still think that is a lot of drama queen impersonation over nothing. No other guest has ever had to cancel on Dave? Bet they didn't get that kind of treatment.
Oh and before someone says it, yes, I would feel the exact same way if it was Obama who canceled.
Letterman is another hollywood limousine liberal. He is just acting to type
He didn't "have to" cancel. He chose to cancel and then did an interview with Couric instead after telling Dave he was going to work on the financial crisis.
Oh poor widdle David Wetterman.
Dude, I got it. Just like I told BP. Get a grip on that. I got it.
I will say it again, I doubt he acted like that when other guests canceled, and I am sure some have had to for various reasons.
Once again, I would say the exact same thing if he were acting like that because Obama canceled. It isn't the end of the world for a talk show to have a guest cancel.
Of course if this had been Obama ..... it would be Mock Outrage coming from Dave.
Psst...it was not Obama it was McCain...who I might add has been on the Letterman show many times and If I recall correctly was where he first made the official announcement that he was running for President.
Dave is a whiner about all of this no doubt, but it was still a pretty crappy thing for McCain to do no matter how anyone tries to spin it.
The question is, who is spinning it?
What if Obama was on there...blah blah blah...spin and deflect.
Damn the economy, the letterman show is more important.
Letterman is another hollywood limousine liberal. He is just acting to type.
I said that, and above you just agreed he is whining about it. Now it is spin.
He is whining about it but you act like that justifies mccain from missing...maybe it would if he actually did care enough about the economy to not stop and do in an interview (since he "claims" to have suspended his campaign) and also stop to worry about his own wallet instead of the economy and then wait to the next day to go back and make his "political move" masked as concern.
So maybe you were right on the first part,,,damn the economy, but wrong on the second part because it would appear his political aspirations and wallet are more important.
But that's ok if you wanna deflect.
