    I hope he does well. He was never a great player, but he always cared about the community and is a super nice guy.

    the hate on Spears here is extremely lame. how the hell can someone sum up someone's new career before it even begins? bunch of spoiled brats just hating for the sake of hating.

    Agreed! I still recall a story about him befriending an ill coed while he was still at LSU. I'll see if I can find it.

    I really though Spears was going to be an excellent pro. He didn't have that quick twitch where he would pile up sacks. But in college he was about 280-290 pounds and just looked like a big impressive looking athlete.

    I feel like the guy we saw in Dallas was not that impressive looking athlete but closer to a body that looked like a big pile of goo. Don't know what happened there.
